  • Good truck, rough ride - 2004 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

I actually purchased this truck in june of 2002. During the first couple of months I really enjoyed this truck. But, then the harsh ride and the plywood seats started hurting my back every time I went off road or on a trip for longer than 2 hours. I am getting ready to purchase a 1500 crew cab chevy in june, and I cant wait for that smoother ride and those soft seats.

  • Excellent basic pickup - 2004 Toyota Tacoma

Excellent basic pickup, consistently get 27-28 mpg in mixed driving. No squeaks/rattles or any problems. Flawless.

  • 278,000 miles and counting - 2004 Toyota Tacoma

I bought my Prerunner new in 2004. My previous truck was an F-250, so it was tough to give up the size, and the big V8 engine - in fact I still miss those things. But this truck just keeps on and keeps on and KEEPS ON, so I just cant complain anymore. In all these miles, I have done pretty much NOTHING except change the oil, and whatnot. The only thing that has ever broken was the power steering pump, somewhere around 150K miles. I plan to continue driving this as my main (and only) work and personal vehicle at least until it hits 350,000. I see no reason to believe that will be a problem.

  • American trucks suck! - 2004 Toyota Tacoma

My 3rd toyota! Love the 4 doors and all the room it gives. You pay extra for the toyota quality but its worth every penny!

  • New Toy - 2004 Toyota Tacoma

I have driven many trucks but this one is the best by far. We own a Dodge and sevral Chevys on the ranch but none of them compare to the build quality of the Toyota. Not the most powerful on the market, or largest, but hands down my favorite.

  • Great all around truck - 2004 Toyota Tacoma

I bought this Tacoma 4wd, v6, 5spd, TRD pkg. The Taco is fun to drive, looks great, handles snow like its dry pavement, and seems as if built to last a lifetime. Ive had only a slight squeak in the dash on the pass. side. Ive put on over 14000 miles in 9 months driving to the mountains of NH, and this past week have tackled a 3 foot blizzard in boston with no problems. Great for a single guy/couple with no kids. Back seat good only for storage or the dog, not much more. Good factory radio, cold a/c, and supportive seats make this my commuter truck/weekend-warrior mobile! You wont regret this one.

I have owned this truck for just over 2 years now and have loved every minute. The Tacoma is an all around fun truck to drive. Ive been on sand at lake powell, mountains all over, mud and snow, and the thing just keeps going. I love how this truck performs. It has never disappointed me.

  • Best Truck on the Market!!!! I LOVE IT! - 2004 Toyota Tacoma

This is the first NEW vehicle I have ever bought. Ive now put 5,000 miles on my truck without a single problem. No sqeaks, rattles or anything. I think the gas mileage is great for a truck. Try to find an extended cab 4x4 truck now adays that gets 20 mpg in the city!! Fit and finish is top quality. I love the compact size and Im 64". I think there is plenty of room. Lots of storage area in the cab believe it or not. The reason I got this truck was because of the cult following they seem to have with them. Now I know why. I dont know about the new redesigned 05s but I am sure they will be just great. Great Truck off road it will handle anything you can through at it.

  • Nice but.... - 2004 Toyota Tacoma

Nice truck. Ive only been driving it for 800 miles now. Ride is a little bumpy, but having said that it is a pre- runner. Build quality very good. Interior look is called "dated", but go and compare it to a new Nissan. If the Nissan is more "current", Ill live in the past thank you. They a very proud of them, so negotiate hard to get a good deal.
