Model Overview:

Since its introduction in 1995, the Toyota Tacoma has been a mainstay of the compact and midsize pickup segments. The original Tacoma fell into the compact category, while the second-generation truck's 2005 debut marked the transition to midsize dimensions. Typical advantages to a new or used Tacoma include a variety of body styles to choose from, useful off-road abilities, strong resale value and a better than average reputation for reliability.

Downsides are few. Even when modestly appointed, this Toyota often costs more than competing trucks and prices are high on the used market as well. In addition, taller drivers might feel cramped inside the first-generation Tacoma's compact cab. Otherwise, the Toyota Tacoma is a very capable pickup that's highly recommended for nearly all truck shoppers.

  • Decent Truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

This is just another truck. No better or worse than all the others. I have owned every brand and I have not found a perfect truck yet. Why doesnt anyone complain about the truck being nearly undrivable on windy days? Other trucks are not blown all over the highway on windy days. The engine is great.

Might as well get all the bells and whistles on this unique, tricked out version of the Tacoma. Almost 4 years later and still turning heads everywhere we go.

  • My Truck - 2002 Toyota Tacoma

I bought this truck new in 2002 and besides a replaced power steering pump (under warranty) I have had no mechanical issues. Toyota quality is second to none. Only gripes I have is the placement of the clock, and a jittery ride over bad pavement, and mediocre gas mileage (18 mpg avg.) but hey, its a truck. Stock tires were crap and after replacing them with bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos the handling improved greatly. This truck has never let me down, and Ill probably have it forever. Its still as solid as the day I drove it off the lot. It always pays to have a great pickup.

  • Solid overall truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

This truck has performed exactly as I have needed it to. I have hauled and towed thousands of pounds over the past 2 years without a hint of power loss or suspention drop. The back seat is also perfect for driving my kids around. I have 3 other friends with this truck that feel the same way. Solid truck, solid buy!!

  • What a truck - 2015 Toyota Tacoma

2015 TRD Sport - This is my first ever brand new vehicle. I looked at several vehicles and this truck was the best bang for the buck. It was the most expensive out of all the trucks I looked at, but I felt that this will last me as Toyotas have always been dependable and the resale is great.

  • I new what I was buying - 2016 Toyota Tacoma

I had to write a review after reading a lot of bad one star reviews by folks who did a test drive. First off the "power" issue is what it is. I have owned both the 2nd gen and now a 3rd gen Tacoma and off the line the 3rd gen seems alittle weaker, over all the 3rd will move when you get on the gas. I have averaged 20 mpgs on mine since day one and that is mostly winter time. Driver seat isnt as comfortable as it could be and if you are 63" this truck isnt for you. I also on a Current gen Tundra and it has nice leather seats. I bought the taco because it got better mpg than my tundra and cheaper operational cost. Ride and Handling is impressive. I dont plan on hauling heavy loads, mostly recreational equipment. This is a Mid size truck remember that if you want one. And to the guy who bought one and hates all the technology in it, why did you buy it. A lot of the technology is standard on most trucks today.
