  • Will own it for life! - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

Finally purchased my toy last summer, after humming and hawing for years. Ive researched the pros and cons between the Nissan Frontier and the Tacoma, and the biggest issues outstanding for each is the transmission trouble with the Taco, but the differential troubles with the Frontiers. After thinking about the cost (frontier cheaper) the size (frontier smaller) and reputation, I felt that I could live with the random gear changes of the taco, and it wouldnt cost anything in repairs, or pay less for a Nissan, then replace the differential in a year, have less cabin room, less box room, and less "look cool factor". Ive been driving in every terrain with only once stuck in a ditch! Love it!

  • Still loving it. - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

I have now put 2,000 miles on it and still loving it. Best tank of fuel got me 20.10 mpg. Put A.R.E. bed cover and stainless steel side bars, flow master 3 stage muffler, stainless steel tip. Looks and sounds great, Love this truck. traded my 2002 for this 2006. Went fourwheeling and climbed everything I have the guts to climb.. The sport model has limited slip and it is the way to go.

  • 2006 TRD Taco Review - One Year In - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

Its been almost one year since I purchased my 06 TRD Crew Cab Short Box and overall it was a great buy. It has been very reliable, gets relatively good mileage (at 11.2k miles, Ive averaged 17.75 MPG) and is fun to drive.

  • Pay for what you get - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

Yes the Tacoma is expensive, but you pay for what you get this day in age. The option you get with the TRD package are mind blowing. And you get the reliability of a Toyota. Need I say more. Stop researching and buy it!!!

  • Sharp Truck! - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

This is my first truck and I love it. My last car was a 2-seater convertible and decided to go the opposite direction this time. The Tacoma has exceeded my expectations on almost everything. Toyotas design outranks all competitors and the performance is great. Plus you can trust that Toyota reliability. A+++

  • Nice Truck - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

My truck has been wonderful to own. I have almost 25,000 miles on it and it has not given my any problems.

  • Reliable, Functional Performer - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

This truck is by far the best in its class. I test drove every manufacturers mid-size trucks and the Tacoma was all around the best truck. It is worth the extra money relative to domestic trucks, considering resale value of Toyota. The Toyota has an excellent reputation of making outstanding vehicles. The visual appearence is obviously eye catching. The interior is designed well and very functional. The performance is outstanding. The V6 has more power than it needs, which is the way it should be. I tow a trailer and haul loads all the time and it welcomes a challenge with no problem. I have had no problems with my truck. Although I wish it had 4x4, the 4x2 performs outstanding offroad.

  • 16 year old very satisfied - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

My grandpa bought me a Toyota Tacoma, the year of 2006 and its very reliable, it isnt comfortable in the backseats because I got extended cab ,but it works for me and another passenger, its incredible on gas mileage and Im blessed to have such a nice truck

  • Overall Satisfied - 2006 Toyota Tacoma

I echo many of the posted comments that are happy with truck. I am very picky, and point out at stop lights and in traffic at or below idle there is a slight shudder in the drive train. It happens when the AC is on. I feel it in a slow takeoff with my pedal foot. This happens at 1k idle or less. I am surprised over bumps you get “feedback” that I would have not expected, and its likely due to needing to dampen the shocks and springs in the rear. I guess they are doing this in anticipation of the payload, but it would be nice to have the option to set the “drive” style. Other than that, excellent HP for a 6 cyl and good highway experience.

  • Dont Hesitate to Buy - 2006 Toyota Tacoma
    By -

Had a 2000 Tacoma, new to 65K, no problems, ever. In fact, never even had to replace tires, brakes, or any normal items, just oil changes. Huge difference in the new models, and all of the changes are for the better. Smooth ride, much more power, comfort, good gas milage for a truck (getting 18 ish city), fun to drive, roomy interior. I drove the auto, which was very smooth, better gas milage, and faster than stick. I still went with the TRD sport, 6 speed though as I like to control the gears. After reading the reviews and doing the homework, I knew this would be a good truck. After buying one, Toyota has excceded my expectations. Nice work Toyota!
