  • Extremely Reliable People Mover - 2000 Toyota Sienna

I bought this van in 1999, needing flexibility for hauling bicycles and music/PA equipment. Periodically I keep toying with the idea of buying a new one, but then again it has so few miles (62k) and has been so darn reliable, that I just cant convince myself to spend $30k for a new one. Other than problematic power window switches, the vehicle has been pretty much bulletproof. Engine sludge? Not sure what I think but I have changed the oil personally every 3k (of late so few miles ever 6 months with synthetic) and no evidence of sludge in oil filler area. Still starts without complaint first try and runs like a top after nearly 10 years.

  • Excellent vehicle for any size family - 2000 Toyota Sienna

The Sienna LE is an outstanding vehicle for any size family. I love all the room, it handles very nicely and goes from slow to fast quickly. It is not sluggish, which you might expect from a minivan. This vehicle is considered a luxury vehicle to our family. Cons: The sloping front makes it difficult to determine where your front end is, I bumped into curbs a lot; still, that could just be me, I loved the Sienna.

  • Sienna minivan -- comfortable & reliable - 2000 Toyota Sienna

Weve had no problems at all with the Sienna and its been a comfortable vehicle for long trips and taxiing kids around town.

  • Good & Bad - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

The van has been great in many areas. GOOD = Easy use of controls for the driver, comfortable seats for long trips, easy to remove rear seats, dual sliding doors. BAD = replaced transmission after 5K miles. Replaced CD player after 10K. Seat belt light stays on even when seat belt is on. Rust on top of car and we garage the van everyday and night. Tires wore out after 20K replaced with better quality Michelin. Overall the van has been good, I would buy another one but get the 6yr warranty.

  • Sienna worth the price - 2000 Toyota Sienna

I have owned a Toyota Sienna XLE for 2 years now. After 21000 miles weve had no mechanical problems at all. The leather interior still smells like new. The van is extremely comfortable and quiet; I would choose it any day over a standard luxury car. The trade off is performance; its a minivan after all. The V-6 has ample power for accelerating to highway speeds, but youre not going to be going out of your way to drive twisty roads. It seats 7, though, and carries a ton with the seats removed.

  • Sludge - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Well designed interior, but that doesnt make up for the sludge problem that Toyota hid from consumers for several years. We spent $6,000 in repairs on engine because local dealership would not back us up even with demonstrated oil changes per specifications. Finally, Toyota put in a new engine under the warranty -- but the $6,000 in expense, plus a horrible experience with Champion Toyota, has made us never want another Toyota. Its sad, because weve owned 6 Toyotas and 2 Lexus over the years. So much for customer loyalty.

  • Id do it again - 2000 Toyota Sienna

I purchased my 2000 Sienna CE new after buying a used Camry. The Toyota quality is fantastic. I rent mini-vans of all makes with my employment so I was familiar with competing products. I test drove the Sienna and bought it on the spot and took it home to my wife who is thrilled with the car. The ride is very smooth and quiet. We are comfortable and well rested after a long trip. I am currently pricing a new 2002 Sienna to replace this one

  • 2000 sienna LE; had new since 9/00 - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Fit and finish of vehicle is good. In 2002, the right sliding door developed a small rattle (something inside door) more just a nuisance. In town gas mileage is bad (around 15 mpg). Highway driving has been excellent (~25- 27 mpg). fabric is holding up well. dunlop tires arent very good for wear as Ill be needing new tire in the next 3K (currently at 45K miles). Changing oil and filter is very easy. Dual A/C works great even on the hottest days. Paint job on car is pretty average with a lot of orange peel in paint job (typical for japanese cars). Im looking at trading it in for the 2004 sienna.

  • Wonderful but..... - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

We love our 2000 but am disappointed with Toyotas quality. We were always Honda owners and thought Toyota would be just as good. Well the engine is but not the body. Have had problems with the electronic door and interior falling apart. Otherwise great car.

  • Meets Expectations - 2000 Toyota Sienna
    By -

Well built, reliable vehicle that meets expectations. Not exciting, and definitely not a style trend setter, but does a lot of things well and provides great value. Never had a single problem in three years of ownership, with lots of family and pets hauling along the way.
