My beloved Prius - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Beloved - August 25 - 5:33 pmI LOVE MY PRIUS. Boy do I love her. Best decision I ever made for a car couple years ago. To emulate Charlton Heston, "You will only get my Prius out of my cold dead hands." She just turned 115,000 miles and the only things Ive changed to date is the oil and I think they change the air filter as part of the regular service, but Im not sure. Oh! and they rotated the tires. Everything else, and I mean everything, including the original brakes, (which must be different from normal brakes) is still on the car. My 4x4 Previa is a champ, and I thought my Previa was the best made vehicle on the plantet. The Prius is giving me reason to reconsider that conclusion. If you dont have one, buy one.

Long term ownership. - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Jeffand - August 23 - 10:20 amDriving habbits: Mostly country driving, 45-55 MPH. Location: Wisconsin. Summer: 49-53 MPG Winter: 40-45 MPG Cold weather, and short trips do reduce milage. Driving at speeds greater than 65 mph also will reduce milage. Acceleration is ok. Accelrates faster than some mini vans, and SUVs. 0 to 60 in 10 seconds.

Pet Gals friend - 2004 Toyota Prius
By pegkd - August 4 - 2:00 amGreat car! I run a pet sitting business and use my car to get to appointments. I bought the car for the economy (gotta keep those costs down) but love the way it handles in all weather and roomy interior for carrying all my stuff. Pretty good pick up for engine size.

Love my Prius - 2004 Toyota Prius
By schatziq - August 1 - 9:30 pmThis car is more powerful than you might think. I got two speeding tickets my first couple of months owning this car because you can be going 90 miles an hour and it is as quiet and stable as when you are going 35. Great visibility in it- no blind spots and the interior is very functional. Love my Prius!!

2004 Toyota Prius experience - 2004 Toyota Prius
By happynholladay - July 31 - 10:00 amMuch enjoying driving the Prius. Excellent acceleration, gas milage (46) in mostly freeway driving it is getting better-now have 4500 miles on it. Engine is a little noisier than I expected. Handling is not in the sport sedan class, but is adequate. The limited slip system worked well in snow. Rear seat has good knee room. Good Halogen headlights.

Great! - 2004 Toyota Prius
By yellowpearl - June 23 - 2:00 amHave had the car for only a week now after a three-month wait after ordering. This is a great car. It rides, accelerates and handles excellently. Its gas mileage is phenomenal. The fit and finish of the vehicle also is excellent, up to the usual Toyota/Lexus standards.

Almost there ... - 2004 Toyota Prius
By David Stevens - June 23 - 2:00 amGenerally I love this car (so do my 11 yr old and friends). Its fun to drive, quiet, good controls, nice audio, enough room. I had an 85 Corolla that this replaced - I loved it and the Prius is a worthy successor. Theres enough power to drive in the Utah mountains and it has a quiet, solid feel on the freeway. Its been cold so the jurys out on the mileage - so far 48 on the freeway but only 30-35 in town and it takas a while to warm the cabin. Visibility could be a little better but its pretty good.

Disappointing Hybrid - 2004 Toyota Prius
By LBailey - May 31 - 5:56 amThis is my third Toyota vehicle, and second Prius. While there is more interior space and extra standard features, it is more difficult to see out of the windows than with my previous Toyota vehicles and the rear seats are too low for most of my tall friends to be comfortable without their heads touching the roof. Perhaps the most disappointing, however, is the grossly inflated gas mileage. I would never have purchased this car if I had known it got the same mileage as my previous Prius and only a little better than the Echo I had before that. Shame on Toyota for their deceitful gas mileage claims!
