Fantastic Car - 2004 Toyota Prius
By BRT - January 22 - 2:00 amThis is a fun to drive, super reliable car. It has great acceleration and fuel economy. It takes mountain passes at speed, passing many larger, more powerful vehicles. It handles very well and is just downright a kick to drive. It beats the comfort of my SUV and BMW. I love the techy aspects, but non-techies will love it to. It is environmentally positive. This is a fantastic car. As Nike says, just buy it.

Great Gas Sipper - 2004 Toyota Prius
By priustideland - January 22 - 2:00 amOverall, this car is a homerun. We have already 3,500 miles on it during the winter month of NE Ohio. Handle good in deep snow. Gas mileage had decreased during our 10 degree days, but has climbed up since the weather has improved. Long trips of 200 miles are comfortable. Very quiet car. Stereo is good, but not up to professional level, but hey, go buy a sub woofer, then it will rock.

Favorite car - 2004 Toyota Prius
By richfiddler - January 22 - 2:00 amThis is our second Prius - we owned the "classic" (2001) model and loved it, but sold it to our daughter when the 04 arrived (Oct 17, 03). This car is amazing. 8 or 9 of our friends have either bought or have cars on order based on our recommendation!

One Terrific Car - 2004 Toyota Prius
By stan cohen - January 14 - 4:23 pmThe Prius is really fun to drive even though it is not greatly overpowered. The power steering & brakes are are quite sensitive because they are electric. The car is easy to park & handle, holds the road well & the HID headlights are really appreciated. Although there are no power seats, I am sitting higher than other cars so as to make my lower back more comfortable. However, I have convinced no one to buy the car even with the great MPG I get.

2-year review for 04 Prius - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Cool Hand Luke - December 22 - 9:46 amAfter nearly 2 years of ownership, Ive had lots of time to take notes. One test drive changed me. Not one problem so far. My average MPG is in the mid- 40s. Cold temps put a put a huge dent in MPG as motor runs to keep cab warm. Drving in cross winds is difficult as the car seems to get pushed all over the place. I experienced the green bar of light on the windshield as well from the speedometer, but only need to turn down the brightness of dashboard lights to eliminate it at night. The car is quite, peppy, very responsive to acceleration and turning. I cant say enough good things about it. Round trip to Maine (from MN)cost $185 at $3/gal! Resale value is incredible!

Good job, Toyota! - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Prius - November 19 - 9:56 pmThe Prius is a well thought out vehicle which has everything in the most convenient place, plenty of room in front and back and performs wonderfully. I average 50mpg except in winter when it drops to 48mpg with heater use. I would not hesitate to buy the same model again when this one gets long in the tooth. Maybe by then theyll get 100mpg!
