  • Great car ! .. When do I get 60 mpg ? - 2004 Toyota Prius
    By -

The car has performed flawlessly and without any problems (9k miles to date). I had expectations of 45-55mpg city. I am getting 40-45mpg and I do not know if this my driving habits (I have a lead foot sometimes). I use my Prius as a commuter car (45miles round trip daily) and I just love the look and the drive. I will never buy a non-hybrid again.

I knew I would like this car but I had no idea how much I would love it. This car is so fun to drive. Great pick-up, seamless transmission, great gas mileage! And much roomier than it looks from the outside. Very peppy and quite comfortable to drive. Well worth the hasssle of a waiting list.

  • At 100,000 miles, its still awesome!!! - 2004 Toyota Prius
    By -

My Prius just turned 100,000 miles. With little over four years of ownership, the only thing I had to do periodically was change the oil and replace a few air filters. All mechanical systems have held up - I still have the original brake pads, muffler, and everything else. My Prius has been extremely cheap to keep and I highly recommend it as a primary family car. As far as tires go, Im still on the second set!!

  • solid town car - 2004 Toyota Prius

Interesting car that delivers promised economy. Very comfortable communter car with ample torque for local street and freeway driving. Navigation system is unnecessarily complex to use and is also quirky, frequently giving odd or inefficient directions. Averaging 45 mpg on mixture of freeway and city/suburban streets. Freeway milage much higher (45 - 75 mpg) than street milage (25 - 35 mpg).

One of the best cars on the road to drive........all cars should be made this way.........who needs gas

  • Satisfaction - 2004 Toyota Prius
    By -

This is my second Prius and I have totally satisfied with both vehicles. No problems of any sort (except one flat tire which was the fault of a big bolt left in the road). Most of my driving in this car is local, less than 4 or 5 miles per trip. However, I drove to Chicago (avg 56 mpg) and to New Jersey (avg 54 mpg). There have been no shakes, no noises, no problems. The quality of these cars is impressive by itself, but the clean emissions make it outstanding.

  • Finally a car for the 21st century - 2004 Toyota Prius
    By -

After having waited 6 months, it was finally time to drive my own Prius. Its lovely, not rattles, nice finishing, quite peppy and very low MPG. Of course not the EPA rating, but no car ever reaches these ratings. Also its a very safe car (5 stars in EuroNCAP test). The smooth ride, you hardly notice the car switching from electric to gas or combined, is great and the handling not bad at all for a car of this size (I live in Europe so I drive the European version of the Prius). And the fact that when your standing at a traffic light or in a traffic jam without the engine running is great as well, the utter silence is wonderful.

  • Long-term owner - 2004 Toyota Prius

After four years, I have a balanced view. Excellent & practical car with gas economy ranging from 37 mpg to 49 mpg in hot, flat Florida. Its relaxing to drive but no speed demon. Its about 95% an ideal car.

  • Move to the future of cars! - 2004 Toyota Prius
    By -

My MPG has been rising steadily after breaking in, and with the recent warm temperatures in California, my average is about 51 to 52 MPG. Superb! The car makes traffic and filling up enjoyable. Also feels good to know your car is cleaner than just about everything out there.

  • A Brilliant Car - 2004 Toyota Prius
    By -

A brilliant car. Fully-featured and the most technologically advanced automobile to date. Toyota thought of everything, plus a few surprises. The biggest hill is defeating the myth and establishing the truth. Wait 10 years and the highways will be near silent. --Jason of greenhybrid.com
