Best car ever - 2004 Toyota Prius
By frenchofva - March 19 - 3:20 pmOutstanding vehicle, my favorite car that I have ever owned. We now own two Prius cars and plan to by the Camry Hybrid. Lifetime mileage 49.9 MPG. Have kept detailed records for life of car. Summer mileage 50 - 55, and winter mileage 43 - 48. Drove from DC to Montreal on one tank!

Love this car - 2004 Toyota Prius
By JEBG - March 7 - 5:56 amWe bought this car due to a work commute and what it "represents" environmentally. We have gotten up to 69 miles per gallon, although we seem to average around 58-59 mpg - and that is almost all highway driving. We have taken it over the grapevine, "possibly" in excess of the posted speed limit with no problem. We love this car and cant wait for the hybrid highlander to come out. The car is so quiet, you can hear the road noise - or at least we notice it more than other vehicles we have had, so we turn on the radio.... With this technology available, there is no reason not to have it in all passenger & SUV vehicles.

By jshindler - January 11 - 2:00 amThis car is great! Its fun to drive, accelerates nicely, and is quiet as can be. I consistantly get 45 miles to the gallon (which isnt quite what they say, but how do you argue with such a high number?).

I took me awhile to adjust my driving style to get the maximum miles per gallon...but now that I have it is great, especially with the gas prices going up. The down side to it is that you can feel every major bump more so than my old corolla. But, I over look it because it is so fun to drive! I am really happy that I bought this car.

By nellilein - December 25 - 10:00 amAfter waiting four long months we finally received our Prius. This car is amazing and lots of fun to drive. It handles extremely well in a number of circumstance. It excels in rush hour traffic, as well as along Highway 1 in northern California. It handled the curves and turns as well as a sports car and certainly handled them much better than a sedan. To me the best part of the vehicle, besides the above mentioned facts, is that I dont have to feel so guilty about polluting the air with smog inducing emissions and that I am doing a small part to reduce global warming. Detroit, are you listening??

Engineering marvel, comfort lacking. - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Mike Wellman - November 23 - 2:00 amI find this car to incorporate many features all cars should have - variable transmission, smart entry and start, hybrid technology. They need to work on some comfort items. Controls on the driver armrest are not illuminated, multi-function display is hard to read in bright light, blinds - especially when backing up.
