Have had the car for a month (1500 miles) since waiting 7 months. Gas milage is what we expected ranging from 41 to 64. My wife uses it to commute 85 miles a day and she is averaging 51. I am used to firmer rides, so springs in rear could be firmer but it handles adequately. Surprised that it could easily do 100 with 5 on board.

Ive owned 40 cars over the last 45 years and my last one, an FX35, was by far the finest of all until gas prices went up and my annual mileage jumped to near 40,000 miles. Bye went the great Infiniti in came the Prius. This car makes the Infiniti seem like ancient technology. Cant figure out how anybody would prefer to buy anything else. The wait was well worth it. I was perfectly happy averaging between 40 and 45 miles per gallon over the first two months and then the rains came to Southern California. Since the Prius is not exactly a tank I naturally slowed down, avoided fast starts and generally kept a good distance away from other cars. Mileage jumped to 55!

Enjoy driving it, and it is comfortable. AZ freeway speeds are 75 MPH. Car has no problems keeping up with the traffic (I seldom go over 80, but have reached 90 and above, with no problems). I average between 40 and 45 MPG.

I have never been so excited about an automobile!!! This is the best thought- out, well designed, technically advanced automobile available today. It is underpriced for everything you get standard, particularly for such a techno complete auto; more gadgets and screen displays to keep any Star Trek fan thinking theyre in their own star- ship, and with an industry low .26 coefficient of friction, it almost IS as slick as a star-ship! Otherwise, just dont tell anyone its an economy car, theyll never know!

I absolutely love my prius. I will never buy anything but a hybrid again. I cannot even think of anything that I do not like about my car. A sunroof would be nice but then you might lose the aerodynamics. And who wants to give up the miles per gallon you get for a sunroof. Not me. Everyone that ridess with me loves it too. I have the navigation system and it is great when I travel. This is a great car.

The Toyota Prius has the most seamless powerband I have ever had the opportunity to own. The second generation of Prius is the best yet! I have been averaging 51.5 mpg, with my first tank ! A little tip for getting better mpg... is to get up to speed and then let it go into electric mode. (for city driving under 40mph) I feel so lucky to own this Hybrid.

We have had it only one week, but love it so far. It handles very well and has plenty of power (although power is a relative thing, and its always fun to have more). The gas mileage is great although I dont think it will ever be close to the 60 mpg in town that its rated. We have it loaded, so the Navigation system, cell phone through the car system, controls on the steering wheel etc., are lots of fun, and work well. We havent needed to use the vehicle skid control yet. Im looking forward to owning a hybrid van.

Toyota, follow-up by Honda, leads the world in the practical application of driver and Earth friendly hybrid vehicle technology. Toyota’s redesigned and reengineered 2004 Prius is in another league altogether from its present day competitors, offering comfort, five passenger practicality and added cargo space. Toyota delivers a next generation gas-hybrid system that excels in both performance and driver/passenger design. A joy to drive, wonderfully engineered with power to spare. The real reward is at the gas pump, where saying no to big oil translates into filling up on less than 9 gallons, and not having to pay for premium fuel.

What a wondeful car! I did own a 01 Prius for 3 years. To drive the 04 model is like stepping into a different dimension. The fully loaded version offers a wonderful voice guided NAV system, bloetooth cell phone system, a smart entry & smart start system, lots of cargo room and is just fun to drive. Oh, I almost forgoth the excellent MPG! Anybody who buys a conventional hatchback vehcile must be ignorant to our enviroment. All I can say "you have to drive a 04 Prius". Sincerely, Rene A. Doess
