Overview & Reviews
The 2004 Toyota Prius is completely redesigned with a larger overall size, more power, better mileage and even more available features.
- Outstanding mileage, ultralow emissions, hatchback utility, reasonable price, excellent build quality.
- Less power and room than other midsize sedans, center-mounted gauges not intuitive.

Great Car - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Prius Owner - September 22 - 10:00 amWhile the fuel economy is slightly less than advertised (i am getting about 50 mpg in mixed driving) it literally "sips" the cheapest fuel. acceration is adequate but even better "off the line". It has many really great features like "bluetooth technology". With a "bluetooth enabled" cell phone (I have a motorola V600 and AT&T) when you get into the car it "reads" my cell phone and magically (without even taking the phone out of my pocket!) becomes a fully integrated car phone - using the cars computer screen, speakers and microphone. What a deal.

My Favorite Car! - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Sann - August 10 - 2:00 amI really like my car. Its fun to drive and one high point, its very easy to make a u-turn. The mileage is not quite as good as stated. I get about 45 miles to the gallon with a combination of city/highway driving, however, I live in an area with rolling countryside.

Mileage of Prius - 2004 Toyota Prius
By TYhealing - August 10 - 2:00 amI very much enjoy my Prius, however, the average mileage is far below what they state. One can expect to average 40 mpg. Toyota dealerships now even acknowledge this when questioned.

Awesome auto! - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Priusmama - August 10 - 2:00 amWe bought our Prius sight unseen since the dealerships cannot keep them in stock. We have fallen absolutely in love with it. Its fun to drive, economical and very roomy. There isnt one bad thing I can say about it. After seeing other hybrids at the auto show, Im so glad we bought the Prius. It is built so much better than the others. Give yourself the first 500 miles to see your mileage become what you think it should. There must be a break-in period because we saw a drastic improvement after we hit the 500 mark. Great job, Toyota!

Improved mileage and HOV too! - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Huneybaer - August 10 - 2:00 amAlthough I am enjoying my Prius, there are certain things that I hope will be on future models. I like the hatchback and can fit many things into the back, but the split window leaves much to be desired.

One of a Kind - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Pwalrath2 - August 10 - 2:00 amThis is my second Prius, and the 2004 is so comfortable, stylish, and it passes gas stations. I use it in Real- estate and the savings is outstanding! I have the 9 upgrads with GPS, keyless entry, 6 CD Changer built in Phone, voice activated, and so much more.

Best Toy Ever! - 2004 Toyota Prius
By Sellen - August 10 - 2:00 amFrom the GPS Map to the LoJack to the CD player to the (extra cost) 75,000 mile warranty, this is the BEST TOY Ive EVER Owned! One problem - This car brings out my EVIL streak! This last Halloween I was following my kids while they went out for candy. I turned out my lights and started moving up (in Electric Mode) behind a group of teens. They had the BIGGEST scare of the night when ALL OF A SUDDEN a Car turns on its Headlights & Honks its horn, RIGHT BEHIND THEM!! They Never Heard Me COMING!! LOL!! If youre even THINKING about a Prius, GO FOR IT!! :) d. s. ellenwood, Lodi, CA
