Overview & Reviews
The all-new 2000 Toyota Celica is considerably more performance-oriented than the previous model. Highlights include a sleek exterior, a 180-horsepower engine and six-speed gearbox for the GT-S, and sharp handling.
- New styling, new engines, new excitement.
- Celica GT-S engine is peaky for in-town use.

Love it! - 2000 Toyota Celica
By jessek1 - October 8 - 5:30 amI have wanted this car since high school (graduate of 03) and finally bought one in 2007. Had only 24k on it so practically new. I have lots of other drivers look my way. People always compliment that the style looks new, most people assume it is a new model car, not knowing production was stopped in 05. I will keep it until it rusts from under me!!! Despite the frigid Iowa weather last year, it started fairly easily before work. Needs more power, men especially will want to race me, only for me to act like I am receiving a phone call from someone right when it turns green. Tricky, tricky!

By bangin_celica - September 12 - 1:40 ami bought this car needing a lot of work 10 years and 166k on her when i got her needed struts a cat. tires brakes and belts alternator and battery replaced for preventative as well but toyotas are tanks so doing all this work in my opinion made economical sense i got a good deal on it (2k less than others around here) and spent 1.7k on what it needed (battery and alternator not needed just preventative) so i got a good deal now that its fixed its a beast i put flowmaster exhaust when cat. was put on it sounds great but i dont know who neglected their maintenance on this car i wanna kick there behind (for the kids reading) bc its a great car and im babying her back 2 life lucas inoil gas tranny and kn filter

Great car for a great price - 2000 Toyota Celica
By Gardenia6441 - August 8 - 2:00 amI have had this vehicle for almost 4 years now, and I still enjoy it as much as the first day. Ive had one recurring problem....my car squeals after it has rained. Ive taken it to be worked on, and they can never seem to fix the problem. Ive had the tensioner replaced, pulleys, and belts. Also, the cruise control doesnt seemed to be calibrated correctly. Other than that, it was money well spent.

It just makes you want to drive like a race car driver! It has unbelievable handling, awesome looks, and a one of a kind design! This car turns A LOT of heads! VERY reliable, gas efficient, and easy to fall in love with!

I wish I could Buy one new. - 2000 Toyota Celica
By Specter - May 2 - 3:36 amI bought my dark blue 2000 Toyota celica brand new in 2000. I was lucky to find a promotional car with no sunroof. This is the only way my 6foot 5 inch frame would fit. I fit perfectly. Plenty of leg, head and shoulder room. One of the few modern Japanese small cars I can fit in. This car was completely trouble free for the first 80,000 miles. I just changed and flushed the fluids and replaced the stock tires every 50,000 miles. Replaced the breaks and spark plugs every 100,000 miles. At 200,000 miles I replaced the struts and the clutch. The only problem I have had has been a check engine light that came on at 80k. That light would come and go over the next 100k then never come on again.

60000 miles and still running like new - 2000 Toyota Celica
By macknannie - April 14 - 10:00 amThis girl is 3 years old now with over 60,000 miles and still running as good as the day I bought her. She got some new tires and the spoiler needed tightened. A squeeky belt was replaced. Pretty good, considering I always used to dump my Fords at 50,000 miles because thats when they started costing an arm and leg to maintain. She still hugs the road, she still looks good, and she will be with me for another 3 years at least.

A slice of life - 2000 Toyota Celica
By Wanless - March 31 - 2:00 amThe 7th gen Celica is certainly a welcome change from the previous model. Following the recent trend, new high-revving, powerful, yet efficient (excellent fuel economy!)engines have made this car a blast. My GT is pretty quick, but the Celicas selling point has never been its speed alone - its the handling! This car handles like a go cart! Whats great is that you get all of this with Toyotas typical reliability and quality attributes.

What a great car! - 2000 Toyota Celica
By Drew from Philly - February 5 - 10:00 amI traded in a new 99 Cougar for this car. And, oh, what a difference. The Celica is the first manual Ive owned (not driven though). Ive had the car now for almost 2 years and loved every minute of it. Real fun to drive, handles like a go-kart. The car also looks great! Ive added the TRD groud effects package (now called the Action Package). The interior is laid out like a cockpit. 30,000 miles now and no problems what-so-ever. Im even on the original brake pads. Great car, I would highly recomend it.
