Pros:

Cons:
  • Celica GT-S engine is peaky for in-town use.

Ever since I bought this car it has been nothing but trouble catalytic converter died 3 days after I got it dealership claimed no knowledge about issue, had to replace o2 sensors 3 times in 1 month after that and it had a bad coil which led to another expensive repair it eats spark plugs and has to have premium ones for some reason parts for gt are more expensive than gts and now the computer is having issues I am selling asap

I never have driven such an amazing fun car. I have never had an problems with my 2000 Celica other than regular maintainance issues. It now has 212000 miles on it and still runs like new. And in the snow its the greatest car to drive. There is nothing negative I could say about the Celica, its a great fun car to drive

I call him Sherman Tank as he ranks #1 in crash test ratings for sports cars in his division. Got rearended a week after purchase. I bought b/c I had long drives home from work and wanted to have fun while being stuck in a car. Its a "get noticed" fire engine red car and for all its looks, it runs beautifully if you take care of it. I unfortunately bought it used and they did not disclose that the air intake and filter were installed by previous owner and now I have to find places to clean my high performance filter instead of just replacing normals ones. Overall - it rocks!!! I will keep until I buy a newer version!

TOYOTAS ROCK.

This is the second Celica GT I have had. I bought it because my first one was so reliable. I had 120,000 miles on it and had absolutely no problems. I love the ride and the handling of the 2000, but it lacks substantially in acceleration. I would not be able to keep up with some of the other imports if it wasnt for some of my upgrades. Overall, very reliable vehicle and no worries so far. But i think that Toyota has to do something with performance or it will eliminate itself from the demanding market of imports

This car rocks....it has great pickup for a 4 cylinder. The only problems I find are that the headlights are very hard to change due to limited space. Otherwise....this is one of the greatest cars Ive owned.

  • New Gears? - 2000 Toyota Celica

I bought this car because I wanted a car to keep for ten years! At 24K, I had to replace fourth and fifth gears. At least it was still under warranty! I drive hard, but never beyond 5500 RPMs. I also had to replace the fan blower just recently. The interior is cheap plastic that you can scratch very easily. Toyota cut too many corners when they designed this car. I wouldnt buy this car or any Toyota again.

i enjoy driving it. one down fall to the car that i have found is the blind spots, due to small windows and side mirrors. the only other down fall to the car is the limited leg room for the backseat. besides that this is an excellent car.
