Overview & Reviews
The Avalon has been redesigned for 2005 and now offers a more powerful V6 and even more room than before.
- Carefully constructed cabin befitting a Lexus, powerful and smooth V6 engine, superb ride quality, huge rear seat.
- Not as much fun to drive as a Chrysler 300, stability control can only be had on top-rung models.

Great car! - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By Debbie - January 9 - 9:16 pmI had previously owned 2 Toyotas but most recently had a 1990 BMW 525i. I enjoyed my BMW for 12 years. However, Im very impressed with the Avalon. I did plenty of research and probably knew as much about the car as the salesman. Its everything I had read about...comfortable, roomy, plush...It drives well on the open road. Id never had automatic doors, a cup holder, leather, CD changer. So Im in heaven. Great value for the price.

Toyota Avalon Limited 2005 - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By Sharron Zeisman - January 3 - 10:53 amThis is my second lease of an Avalon. It is a dream to drive as I have arthritus, and It is so comfortable. It drives as though it it the top of the Lexus Brand. Most of the high-end extras that the Lexus has comes standard on the Limited. It has items that I never would have thought I needed. Its keyless entry is great as are all of its other extras. This truly drives like a car that starts at $50,000. I have driven "luxury cars" for years. There is not much difference.

A very impressive vehicle - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By Gary U - December 28 - 8:06 pmJust purchased my 2005 Avalon Limited mirage blue with ivory interior with DVD Nav, Laser cruise control pretty much loaded with most of the options and I am thrilled with the vehicle. I had currently owned a landrover discovery and mercedes and was considering getting a new mercede, Audi, Infinity, or Lexus. After looking and driving all of theses vehicles I kept comming back to the Avalon not only for the beauty of the car but also the price compared to these other vehicles I had considered. I think Toyota is the leader in quality and styling. Take the new Avalon for a ride and I think you will be impressed.

update - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By galaida - December 15 - 9:23 pmThe car is an excellent performer and the fuel mileage is beyond my expectations. Getting 32 mpg with 2 rest stops per fill up, around town 22 to 24 mpg which is better then my 2002 Avalon with the 3 Liter engine. This is driving cross-country at speed limit plus 5.

Lots for the money - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By glendola - December 3 - 6:53 amI purchased my Avalon new in 12/05. It did have 1,100 miles, however I consider that new. It was in the showroom, and in black on black it was a totally impressive and sharp car. I was impressed with the laundry list of standard equipment. From the reclining rear seats, to the most exceptional stereo I have heard, even in cars that cost $15k more. I wont get into the other standard features because that would take forever, lets just say you want for nothing in this car in the way of luxury. I have had absolutely no complaints mechanically. Even the tires with 48,000 miles still have at least 15,0000 miles left on them. The performance is astonishing. Would definitely repurchase.

Avalon 2005 - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By jfwynne - November 27 - 11:46 pmThe 2005 Avalon is the steal of the year. The XL is equipped with all the features you would expect on a vehicle costing thousands more. They have a great product which will set the level in competition against the best Europe has to offer. Toyota has done their homework on this vehicle. Plenty of room for six footers.

Avalon Surpasses Our Expectations - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By Mike Geradi - October 24 - 5:40 pmAn excellent overall vehicle, went looking for a 4x4 & fell in love with this car!!! It meets or surpasses everything that we look for in our cars, it has the quality of a Lexus at a much easier price. With 280 hp this car can move!! We could not be more pleased with our choice & will now look at a 4Runner as our 4x4 pick.

Fun to Drive - 2005 Toyota Avalon
By J. A. Dean - October 12 - 10:56 pmThis vehicle is fun to drive. Toyota knows how to make a sedan sporty, solid and economical. Fit and finish are top quality. Everything worked the first time and everytime since then. The ride is smooth and the automobile is very quiet. I love the leg room in the back seat and the reclining back seat is just an added plus. Cruising back from Las Vegas last year I got 32.3 MPG when I had it on cruise control. What a great automobile to own and drive!
