Overview & Reviews
The Toyota 4Runner has been redesigned for 2010, bringing greater on-road refinement without giving up any of its traditional off-road prowess.
- Strong V6, outstanding off-road capability, pleasant on-road demeanor, ample cargo capacity, available third-row seat.
- Cramped third-row accommodations, no V8 option, weak and inefficient base four-cylinder.

5th Toyota Owned - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By JLW1018 - June 9 - 2:03 pmThis is the 5th Toyota my wife and I have owned. We were looking for an SUV after owning a Solara convertible and we could not be happier with the 4Runner. Its comfortable, a blast to drive and fairly easy to maneuver. The exterior is awesome and the interior is greatly laid out and easy to use controls. The MPG has been between 19-22.

2010 4Runner - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By Yuri - May 3 - 10:46 amI switched from a Ford Explorer to 4Runner and I must admit I love my new toy. Its comfy, looks nice, sits high off the ground has awesome options and the leather heated seats in a 4Runner I mean tough and comfy I love it! Initially I wanted to go with a black exterior and cloth 3 row interior, but after some more thought, I decided to do the dark gray (magnetic gray metallic) exterior and black leather interior with light gray paneling. It looks very sharp I am glad I chose the combination over my initial one.

4-runner - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By mike - April 6 - 10:00 amNice sized 4-wheeler with Toyota reliability. Excellent turning radius with good steering feel. Would be nice if the 5.7 v-8 from the Tundra was an option- could use a little more torque going up steep hills. Seems like the Bean Counters took over the final design of the latest 4-runner.

4 cylinder makes the grade - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By CHAD - January 31 - 2:33 amI bought a 2010 4 cyl. 4runner in March. I had a 2005 Toyota Highlander and planned to purchase another one but came across this model on the dealers lot. I bought it because it delivers good gas mileage, has 8 air-bags, neat appointments in interior. Has better outward visibility than the hl, sits 1" higher, and has enough power in the 4 cly. For my use. I am towing a 2000 lb. Pop-top camper and have no interest in going off road. The storage space is adequate, seats fold down flat, dashboard temp., compass, mileage ratings, etc. Are an added plus. After just 1300 miles I am ave. 20.5 mpg. It has sonar for backing up, fog lights, etc. A very good BASIC vehicle for $28,500.

Very, very Pleased - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By Titanpat57 - January 18 - 1:53 pmLooked at the Trail Edition on a Friday night and picked it up on Saturday. Driving to work has become fun again. Toyota has done a great job on this vehicle, from fit and finish to the great off road features. Truly a "one of a kind". The interior layout is easy and compact, coupled with several nice touches of current technology. I came from a loaded Maxda CX9 and the only thing I miss are the heated seats...but with the remote start its a lot less of an issue. The exterior is brawny yet nimble and extremely stable. It has a true "body on frame" ride...which I missed so much! Unibody construction is nice, but that "truck" feel cant be duplicated.

Good for Sierra Mountian Roads - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By 104Runner - January 18 - 10:16 amFirst 1000 miles of driving a pleasure. 19mpg on sierra roads and 24mpg on interstate(65mph). Off road capabilities and height of truck off the snow really closed the deal for me. Plus reliability of Toyota.

Just bought a 2010 4runner - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By DennyG - December 27 - 7:40 pmTook delivery of my 2010 4Runner Limited (Blk/Blk) on April 15, 2010. Love it. Typical Toyota build quality. Ive only put 180 miles on it so far, but it is fun to drive, comfortable, great interior passenger space. Would like to see a power rear hatch instead of the manual one. Not too impressed with the sliding rear cargo tray. Takes up space.

Good Commuter, Off Road, Cruiser - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By Leon - December 3 - 4:20 amThis truck replaced my 04 Highlander Ltd. I was afraid of the gas mileage, but its almost a tie (19 mpg avg.) The cabin is very well appointed. The seats are very comfortable. Fit and finish are impeccable. My 4Runner LTD Edition is not wallowing excessively at all, as some reviews indicate. While the ride is not as carlike as crossovers, the good ol feel of the body on frame is worth the compromise. On the positive side, it glides over New Englands potholes with aplomb without any sign or sound of the suspension destruction. I hope that this truck will be safe, much more durable than my previous, and last longer with little maintenance."

New 4Runner let down; disappointed - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By novice editor - November 9 - 4:00 amMuch to my disappointment the new 4Runner falls short in many areas. One of the most glaring issues are the brakes. There is a 2-3 inch depression of the brake pedal before you feel they kick in and only with tremendous effort on the pedal. (It makes me wonder amid the recalls.) The rear end brakes make a pop sound at times and dealer says its normal:( The vehicle height is a problem, no running boards and instability when facing cross winds. Steering is vague when opposed by the same cross winds. No USB port but a mere MP3 plug for a vehicle of this expense. No running boards either and anyone under 511 with have a tough challenge getting in and out of the vehicle.

Tough, rugged truck - 2010 Toyota 4Runner
By Duke - September 11 - 5:16 pmI searched a long time for a vehicle that was right for me. I didnt like most SUVs because they either had poor gas mileage or were too small. I looked at CUVs which seemed more like a minivan alternative than a utility vehicle and not really made to go off road. The 4Runner offers good mileage (Im getting 20 mpg combined), comfort, technology - voice command, BT, Satellite radio, rear camera, USB, Nav, etc. - so it works well for my daily driving AND is built to tow, haul, go off road - so great for getaways with the family and friends.
