  • 2010 4 Runner missing some past plusses - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

I drove my 2002 4Runner into the ground and bought a 2010 4WD. After a few thousand winter miles in the Rockies I got a better ride and better gas mileage than the 02. XM radio and MP3 input are nice. But there are minuses. The rear window gets dirty fast. The overhanging "spoiler" creates a vacuum in the rear that sucks dirt off the road (the 02 has a deflector that pushes clean air down over the window). The rear wiper covers only half the window and you cant clean the window near the spoiler with a gas station squeegee. The interior is wider, more passenger leg room in back. But center console is a big bucket where crap gets lost. Kept the 02.

Some reciprocity; I found user reviews a definitive value when deciding upon this purchase. Pros: reliability, build quality, Lexus-like ride (test it), strong engine. Cons: paint quality, no frills interior(not an big issue at the price, sensibility to crosswinds. All in all a great buy, nanny your gas and it will truly reward you.

  • Great SUV - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

4 Runner was delivered the day before blizzard hit New York. All features really help drive the SUV in the snow, we tested it in various parking lots and rear wheel slippage is greatly reduced. My wife loves it, very roomy 1st and 2nd row. Only have 250 miles on it and averaging 15 MPG, hope it goes up.

  • Love, love, my 4runner early xmas gift! - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

I was patiently waiting for my 4 runner for 2 months and finally it arrived in December. Loved everything about it even my baby boy calls it mommys boom boom. Everything about it is awesome. Drives smoothly, handles turns well, and has a kick when you want power. Just couldnt wait for the TRAIL or limited models to come in so we got the SR5 instead.

  • almost perfect - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

New model is refined and roomy. 4 litre engine puts out V-8 power with V- 6 econony. Excellent towing - ignore the new rating - this SUV will tow 7,000 pounds with ease. Very useful sliding cargo floor, and backup warning device is a welcome feature. Only gripe is the silver painted plastic interior trim parts that easily scratch and cannot be easily fixed. Flawless build quality - typical Toyota. This SUV is in a class by itself. It doesnt pretend to be a crossover - it is a REAL full framed rear-wheel drive heavy duty SUV. It is like having a 7/8 scale Tahoe with a big V6 motor.

  • my first 4-Runner - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

Wanted something a bit smaller to replace the Land Cruiser, but with low range 4WD. 4-Runner is getting bigger, almost the size of the Sequoia, maybe too big. Happy to have the peppy 6-cyl engine, getting over 21 mpg. Off-road performance is solid, on-road tends to lean in the curves, with a trucklike suspension that could be firmer. Turning radius is great. Styling is trying too hard to look like a Hummer - come on, Toyota, your strong suit has always been simplicity and reliability. I almost didnt buy this one because the hood is so high you cant see the road obstacles. Stereo has way too much bass, maybe the higher end stereo is better.

  • Do not buy! - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

I buy my brand new 4runner sr5 2010 and it was big mistake. I hate the brakes! It is so slow and is built with cheap metal. Gas 19 Mpg, I hate my 4runner!

I had an FJ cruiser with an expired lease term so I traded it in for the 4Runner. It feels solid; the ride quality is definitely truck-like, which is exactly what I wanted. It feels solid all around. Great exterior styling. Inside styling, I was not too keen on but it is growing on me as I drive it more. Off road, this truck is amazing; it begs to be driven off the beaten path. I owned a 3rd. gen. 4Runner and then bailed out when the design became a little too elegant and suburban on the 4th generation. This one captures the truck heritage and the ruggedness of the 2nd and 3rd generation 4Runners. I am glad they stuck with the body-on- frame formula. Very happy so far.

  • A definite purchase - 2010 Toyota 4Runner

This SUV is a must buy. It is by far the best SUV i have had the chance to drive. Has an outstanding ride quality and a tough rugged appearance. I took this truck through over 24 inches of snow and it handled it without even a slight struggle. Fuel economy is great and it has far more power than you would expect from a V6. All together a great buy if you are in the market for a SUV.
