What a car - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By GunnMan - January 29 - 4:23 pmFor years I had a Porsche 944. It got old and had 245,000 miles. Time to go. This Legacy drives very similar to the 944 in the mountains. You can set this car up in the corners very well. Its transient response in the switchbacks is remarkable - and this is a sedan! In tight hilly switchbacks - you can feel the car transitioning power front and rear. Do I have to complain? It could use a 6 speed. Id buy this car all over again.

Good vehicle at the price - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By AJ - December 27 - 3:06 amIve owned this car for a bit over a year now. Heres the short-attention-span review. - Very good engine performance. - Good handling, although the rear suspension could be firmer. - Good brake feel and feedback, easy to modulate. - Great to have a sport wagon with a manual transmission. - Good, but not great seats. At least theyre cloth! (I hate hot/cold, sticky/slippery leather seats). - Awful climate control. With the AC on, it doesnt give you air at one temperature, but pulses alternating HOT and COLD air. - Bad driving position. Lack of a telescoping steering wheel really hurts. - Electronic throttle not ready for prime-time. - 26 mpg hwy, not so hot.

Wonderful Driving Experience - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By E. Castro - December 2 - 11:13 amI got great financing from Subaru. I think this is the best year for the Subaru. Finally a car company has finally put the true meaning of "GT" into a car: style, performance, power and handling. Its not some superficial dressed up version that they slapped GT on it to give you an impression that its faster then their standard models. This thing GOES!

WOW, driving is fun again! - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By sanman76 - November 28 - 3:26 amWow, I have had this car a month now and I love it. It is the best car I have driven. It accelerates, brakes, and rides like a dream. Totally shocked at how nice the car is for the price. What other car can go 0-60 in 5.7 sec with the same build quality, all wheel drive, etc. for under $25k? This car will spank 3 series BMWs. People complain about the tires, but I find them to be decent for what I paid. Yes they wear out quickly, but it is because people who own this car push it to its limits. If you were to drive slowly (which is impossible for me in this car) your tires would last much longer. Overall, highly recommended. Trust me and test drive one!

Joy to Drive - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By vchxxx - November 22 - 8:06 amI have 4000 on the odometer and this car is still a hoot to drive. Everything works well, except Tiptronic is a bit hesitant to upshift. AWD great with the turbo. Other two cars are a Lexus GS430 and Miata. My preference is still between the Miata and Subie. Love the looks of this car. Ride is firm but comfortable. Great car for the money.

Best Subaru Yet - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By John - October 28 - 9:46 pmThe Legacy is awesome. I traded in my WRX for this car. Its not priced all that much more than the WRX, so its a heck of a value. Given the quality, performance and luxury of this car, its a steal. Mine is in Satin White. As part of the deal, the dealer tinted the windows. Im thrilled with the way it looks ... not to mention how it drives.

Subie GT - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Michael - October 25 - 3:03 amSo far it has been excellent. The fit and finish of the interior and exterior have been awesome. I would have liked to have seen the doors close more securely, but overall it is awesome. The power of the turbo is smooth and the shift from gear to gear leaves you breathless. A+. I am glad to see more mods available to date.

Recent reviews have been wonky - 2005 Subaru Legacy
By Henry - October 13 - 4:53 pmIts as if other companies are trying to artificially bring down the rating so I felt compelled to give this car a proper review - throughout the last 5 years, it has repeatedly proven itself as a solid, reliable, and fast car at a steal of a price. There is no way around it.
