I had a basic forester prior to this. We love Subaru! The AWD is a must for us and Subaru has it all! This time I pampered myself with bells and whistles! I couldnt be happier!

0-30 slow, 30-60 good. Handling in corners fantastic, especially if you tweak acceleration in corners. Safety features fantastic. Lots of interior room. Fantastic gas milage, with 30 mpg average. 18.5 gal gas tank gives extended range between fill-ups.

I was driving a 2014 forester and needed better mileage due to my job. Forester had an average mpg of 25. Legacy mileage is presented at 26/36. I just drove 1000 miles, 800 on highway and my mpg is avg 29. Not the increase I was hoping for.

  • All wheel drive, period - 2016 Subaru Legacy

We test drove a lot of cars and decided the best in this class for 2016 were Accord, Mazda6, Camry and Legacy. Mazda by far most fun to drive and best looking. Honda best overall package, other than all-wheel drive. Camry maybe best value but boring and least good looking. We live in upstate NY and get over 150 inches of snow per year, much of it sticky lake effect so its hard to discount the all wheel drive. Add to that heated outside mirrors, wipers and even rear seats and the Legacy is a car that seems to be designed just for our climate. Yes, its the slowest of the bunch, but the interior quality is excellent and the car looks great even if not as stylish as the 6 and the infotainment and gps seemed really good, although Apple Car Play would have been a nice option, which only the Accord offers in this group. It also has memory driver seat and a host of safety features. Hard to believe a large phablet size phone doesnt fully fit in the area with the usb and aux plug ins, and there is a bit of road noise on the highway, but those are minor complaints. We picked up our new Legacy yesterday and are hoping to love it. So far, so good.

  • Good and Bad - 2016 Subaru Legacy

Like many, theres many things I like about my Legacy. Conservative styling and a car that I can actually see out of are benefits. Road and wind noise are disappointing. Ride can be harsh. At 22000 miles I ended the time with the OEM Goodyear tires and greatly improved the ride. Navigation lags, often telling me to turn too late. Rattles, squeaks, and pops everywhere in the interior deemed as "normal". I would accept in a 1986 Plymouth Horizon, but not here. Decent handling, good braking, adequate acceleration. Overall pleased with fuel economy. I would feel much better about my purchase had Subaru sweat the details. Dealer support has been fine.

The car I had before and it had things I liked and didnt get in this one. I had a Mercury Milan, I miss my silence in the car (no noise, or wind sounds) I miss my self locking vehicle that would lock itself upon acceleration. I miss the sound of the trunk/doors closing (very solid sound). This Subaru has a lot of new things as my son said I will need as I age. Thank you son. Getting to learn them hasnt been easy. There are still things I havent figured out yet. My daughter and I went to a Funeral last night and tried the map app on the car and it tried to work, we had to get out the book and start over, easy to operate, no. The feature of the garage door openers on the rear view mirror, great idea. I wouldnt have been able to use it at all if it wasnt for the fact that my opener broke the day I was buying the car and had to replace it. I had it set and works great. I went to set the other side and not so great, what Ive found out through friends, you have to have a newer garage opener for it the work. So I have one that works and one that doesnt. I have yet to get my oil changed and heard from friends how expensive it is, So Im bracing for that surprise. I have a flip cell phone and it wouldnt transfer to the car, but if you add each contact to the car works fine. Ive noticed it is too detracting all the electronics on the dash. Need to be watching the road, so Im ignoring a lot in the car while I drive.

  • Great all-around car - 2016 Subaru Legacy

I recently purchased a 2016 Legacy 2.5i Limited with the moonroof/nav/eyesight package and this is a great all-around car for the money. I got black with the ivory interior and its a very sharp looking car. It has an incredibly smooth and quiet ride and it really feels like a car that would cost thousands more. It doesnt even feel like a Subaru! Ive owned some older ones going back to 1999 and theyve come a long way! So far Im enjoying the comfy roomy interior which is well appointed. The materials have a soft and luxurious feel which is nice. The "high tech" features can be a bit much but many things in the world have become more complicated so thats just the way it is these days. The Eyesight system works well and it applied the brakes for me probably preventing an accident. I looked down for a sec then all of a sudden the car was stopping by itself. Pretty amazing feature. Overall this is a great car for the money.

We have been Subaru owners since 1997 (our first Subie was the Outback Sport). The confidence of knowing you have AWD (true AWD, not the "mamby pamby" pretend AWD offered by all the competition). We broke away from Subaru when the 2010s came out and, for some reason, the Subaru engineers dialed the steering to a non-existent feel and wandering effect. That felt very unlike the Subarus we owned in the past. We were so disappointed that we purchased a Nissan Murano until Subaru could get their act together regarding the handling we always were accustomed o and Subaru was noted for. Well, the wait and all the loyal Subaru customers spoke and Subaru listened. Finally, we test drove the 2016 Legacy 3.6 and our patience has paid off! The superior handling is back with the addition of great safety additions (ours has the Eyesight and remote start) comfort and styling....and of course the true AWD (sorry Nissan, the Murano so called AWD is not what you claim it to be...we know, weve driven Subarus for years to notice the difference). We traded our 2012 Murano on Thursday, November 12th, and dealt with Day Apollo Subaru in Moon Twp in Western Pennsylvania. The salesman (James) and sales manager (Eric) worked with us on what we were looking to get on our trade and what we were willing to pay for our new 2016 Legacy. To make a long story short, we received the deal we wanted and asked for on both ends (the trade and the purchase). My wife and I couldnt be happier! We are thankful to be back in the Subaru family! Thank you Subaru for making the car fun to drive again with the excellent handling and thanks to James and Eric of Day Apollo Subaru who made it all happen!
