This Year's Model Updates:

New last year, the Vue gets only minor changes for 2003. V6 models are now available with front-wheel drive, while a new options package bundles together heated leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A new optional audio system includes a subwoofer, 180-watt amplifier and six door-mounted speakers.

Pros:
  • Large doors ease entry/exit, extensive choice of drivetrains, spacious cabin, excellent crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  • Not Sure - 2003 Saturn VUE

I bought my Saturn VUE in 2008. I have driven it over a year now and I have had no complications like I am reading here. I did however just have my brake shoes replaced and they are now telling me that my front wheel bearings are a little loose and will need replacing soon. Other than that I have had no problems like I have been reading. Trust me, I am still reading up on all these problems.

the saturn vue is a great commuter suv. un like other suvs that guzzle gas the saturn vue is economical . and it looks good . theres also alot of options you can get for a fairly decent price . That in fact that the vue is made primairily in the US made one of the only SUV choices in my price and fuel range . the vue is ok to drive and has a great turning ratio but over all they could of done a better job with comfort, the seats are thin and not that comfortable at the price i paid i expected more . over all it s like i said a great commuter that looks good for less

I stopped by the local Saturn dealer to take a look at the Vue when it came out, not really expecting to purchase the vehicle since I expected lousy gas mileage. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the EPA estimate. We find the vehicle much better than the Honda or Toyota because of the road manners, carrying capability, turn radius, unique look and the hidden spare tire. We really dont like the spare tire on the tailgate for safety and security concerns. We live in Florida and basicly use the vehicle on paved roads our Vue handles the torential rain storms very well. The folks at the Dealer service center are EXXXXcelent!!!!

LOVE this SUV. Coming from sportscars all my life this is a joy. I feel safe but not overpowered by size. Love the saturn service people.

This is my third Saturn and my favorite. Saturn is the only dealer I have ever used in my life for post warranty service of any kind. With all my previous cars, I looked for a local mechanic for all the usual reasons. Saturn dealers arent any cheaper than elsewheere, but the service is always good. In addition, my car has all the features I wanted at a reasonable price.

ive had my vue only 4 months and it has been in the service dept 5 times, from pink fluid leak to clicking noise under the hood to noise in the dash and the worst of all 4 times for a very bad transmission problem that is still no good. talk with the manufactures said not enough to be sent in as a lemon. so to anyone out there if you are looking to buy a vue, really think again.will be trading this lemon in may have to pay more but i want good and reliablity in a vehicle. fell in love with vue when i saw it now really unhappy!! with performance.

I bought this car new in 2003, and was very happy with it for the first six or seven years. I am now holding my breath because I have the infamous CVT tranny. I have less than 65,000 miles on it, but wont drive it out of town for fear that the tranny will fail. I am amazed at the number of people who have bought this car in the last year or two. Any amount of research would have revealed the issue and the 2007 class-action suit filed against Saturn. The judgement was against them, and they were told to cover 100% of repair/replacement costs. Since GM filed bankruptcy, they have weaseled out of that and will only cover half. Half of over $7500 is waaay too much!
