This Year's Model Updates:

New last year, the Vue gets only minor changes for 2003. V6 models are now available with front-wheel drive, while a new options package bundles together heated leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A new optional audio system includes a subwoofer, 180-watt amplifier and six door-mounted speakers.

Pros:
  • Large doors ease entry/exit, extensive choice of drivetrains, spacious cabin, excellent crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  • Absolutely Horrible - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

We bought ours used at 80,000 miles. The transmission blew at 88,000 miles. After a long fight with Saturn I got them to cover half of the $5000.00 repair. The transmission just blew again....lasted 100,000 miles this time. We did not get any benefit from the class action lawsuit that Saturn settled because our mileage exceeded the settlement, but basically the settlement claims Saturn knew that they were producing bad transmissions that blow around 80000 miles. They of course deny it. I also replaced multiple ball bearings. Horrible. Cheap. Worthless.

I traded my 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the Saturn. I also have an 02 Suburban so you see I am an SUV person. The sale incentive was great. 1750 rebate plus 0% financing. Dealship was great. Car drives and runs well. Some wind noise. Seats and interior in general needs a little upgrade. Vehicle is roomy for 4. Took it out on long drive (200 miles) and was comfortable. All in all very satisfied.

  • Bought a better car! - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

My wife liked the Saturn better and I liked the Toyota RAV4 L. Next thing I knew, I got the VUE as a birthday gift. The Acceleration Sucks, 4 cylinder is loud, and the Seats are uncomfortable compared to my 1st pick, a RAV4. 5 months to the day, I traded at a loss for the better car, a RAV4 L and have been much happier since! Nothing holds up in value or comfort like a Toyota!

  • Best Yet - 2003 Saturn VUE

The Saturn VUE is by far the greatest suv I have driven. The handling is superior because of its width of 71.6 amd the electronic power steering. My only complaint is that I live to close to work and therefore I do not get a chance to drive my VUE long enough. The acceleration is also excellent and I have the power to use if I need it.

  • Stout and Steady - 2003 Saturn VUE

Has been a dependable performer since its purchase. Like 3.0L six but wish I had waited for the 3.5L for the towing capacity.

  • A Fun SUV - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

For my first new vehicle it has been a pleasant experience all around. The people at the dealership have been very helpful. The no haggle on price takes away the adversity. The vehicle is priced right to be a great value. It has the latest inovations including electronic steering. I feel confident that if I keep up on regular maintenance the car will last a long time. The back seat has plenty of room.

  • Very Happy - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

I bought my VUE in November 2002 and am very happy with both the car and the buying experience at Saturn. Ive always driven cars (Nissan) and was not really interest in a an SUV until a friend suggested I look at the VUE. My wife and I have taken it on several long trips and driven in very poor weather and was more than impressed with the way it handled (the $600 for ABS and antilock brakes was well worth it). For an inexpensive SUV I dont think you can beat it....I found the Toyota RAV 4 to be small and cramped compared to the VUE, not to mention my dissatifaction with the way I was treated at the Toyot dealership.

  • So Far so good..... - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

I purchased my VUE about 4 months ago (4-cyl, auto, AWD). So far I have had no complaints. The car has performed perfectly and has not given me any problems. The dealership also bent over backwards to keep me happy when I purchased it. Also have to say that RAV4’s are nice but they look like a girl’s car. : P

  • Lovin the VUE - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

I just bought this car, but I am loving it already. I have the V4 manual, and it is FAR superior to the V6 automatic of the same vintage. Its got a lot more pickup and spunk than its counterpart - so if you are interested in this model/year/make, and know how to drive a stick, buy this one. Its got all the bells and whistles I could want except an MP3 jack and in-dash CD changer, but that is an outside upgrade anyhow. Tons of space and a really nice ride...I highly recommend it!

  • Great SUV - When its Running - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

I have had this since 2004. It had 24,100 miles and now 55,000 in 2008. I love the handle, feel, and roominess; however, it should be painted lemon yellow. 2 months after receiving it there was a recall. No big deal. One year and a month later it was creaking and the front stabilizer was replaced. 5 months after that it howled and a wheel bearing and driveline support needed repaired. 1 year later - new rotors & pads In 2007, it was in the shop 3 times - a front pipe separated from the flange so they replaced the pipe and catalytic convertor (remember that), the crank position sensor went, and then the accelorator sensor. Just now - a new catalytic convertor. Ive been stranded 4 times
