This Year's Model Updates:

New last year, the Vue gets only minor changes for 2003. V6 models are now available with front-wheel drive, while a new options package bundles together heated leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. A new optional audio system includes a subwoofer, 180-watt amplifier and six door-mounted speakers.

Pros:
  • Large doors ease entry/exit, extensive choice of drivetrains, spacious cabin, excellent crash test scores.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  • Two Differing VUEs - 2003 Saturn VUE

Drove an AWD and it sounded like it. The ride was rumbly, and truckish. Then drove the FWD with the V6. Completely different vehicle. Nice ride, quieter. Went with the V6, FWD, leather appointments, and got an excellent, high quality "station wagon". Excellent safety features, much better interior, and versitility. Best of all, 0% financing for 60 months, no payments until 2003! All this and Saturns outstanding dealerships. Delighted.

  • I love it! - 2003 Saturn VUE

Its great! I love that Im a mom with a car that my daughter can get in and out of (shes 3)and I can transport alot of stuff, but I can still have my funky steering wheel cover, and my fabulous little SUV. The seats fold 40/60 style in the back & you can fit anything!

great little car, but slightly expensive when fully loaded considering the interior looks pretty cheesy compared to its competitors.little noisy, peppy 6cyl eng. great looking outside. they need to offer a sport package w/ larger tires/wheels,better dash and spare change and cup holders.Have heated leather seats that need better adjustments and should be electric for the price.

  • Great Value - 2003 Saturn VUE

This is my third Saturn. I previously owned an SW2 and an L100. I was in a serious accident with my L last year, but came away unscathed. Im sold on the safety and reliability of Saturns, but wanted more car around me. Hence, my move to the larger Vue. Ive had the car for 15 months, and love it. I went with the 4-cylinder, to get better mileage. The acceleration and power are adequate. Ive read reviews from owners unhappy with various aspects of the vehicle, but my experience has been good. Ive had only one mechanical problem - a front rotor that was defective. No drivability problems.

  • Greatest Mini-Suv Ever! - 2003 Saturn VUE

The Saturn Vue is by far one of the greatest SUVs I have ever driven. I currently bought one in November of 02. So far so good. Its been great in performance, gas millage, and reliability. Ive had it a little over 2 weeks now, and Im lovin it!

  • Nice package, but w/durability issues - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

I wanted an all-wheel-drive vehicle with a reasonable price, good fuel economy and enough leg and head room to accommodate my 63" frame. The VUE seemed to meet all these desires as well as any vehicle on the market. I still appreciate many of its features - - AWD traction, passing power, passenger room, decent MPG by SUV standards, comfy seats and a smooth ride. But this VUE has presented substantial repair costs since the warranty expired (it now has 66K miles). On my dime, Ive had two wheel bearings, the rear drive module, another bearing and a suspension link replaced. Some small issues were resolved under warranty. All in all, it seems a long list of repairs for a 3-year-old car.

  • Best buy for the money - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

I had my choice of any vehicle out there. For the money there isnt a better value. Obviously you cant expect German engineering for under 20,000 but what you can expect is American quality and reliability with paramount service. Very fun to drive and the looks are both unique and stylish. I love it. And put snow tires on it and it cant be stopped.

I traded my 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the Saturn. I also have an 02 Suburban so you see I am an SUV person. The sale incentive was great. 1750 rebate plus 0% financing. Dealship was great. Car drives and runs well. Some wind noise. Seats and interior in general needs a little upgrade. Vehicle is roomy for 4. Took it out on long drive (200 miles) and was comfortable. All in all very satisfied.

Has been a dependable performer since its purchase. Like 3.0L six but wish I had waited for the 3.5L for the towing capacity.

  • Great SUV - When its Running - 2003 Saturn VUE
    By -

I have had this since 2004. It had 24,100 miles and now 55,000 in 2008. I love the handle, feel, and roominess; however, it should be painted lemon yellow. 2 months after receiving it there was a recall. No big deal. One year and a month later it was creaking and the front stabilizer was replaced. 5 months after that it howled and a wheel bearing and driveline support needed repaired. 1 year later - new rotors & pads In 2007, it was in the shop 3 times - a front pipe separated from the flange so they replaced the pipe and catalytic convertor (remember that), the crank position sensor went, and then the accelorator sensor. Just now - a new catalytic convertor. Ive been stranded 4 times
