Overview & Reviews
After 12 long years in production, Saturn is finally retiring its aging S-Series sedan and coupe in favor of the all-new Saturn Ion sedan and innovative quad coupe.
- Innovative rear-access doors on coupe, customer-focused dealers, numerous personalization options, great cargo capacity.
- Build quality not up to segment standards, unusual styling, lack of established service and repair history.

Greatest car, compared to an ACURA - 2003 Saturn ION
By Mike27MD - September 15 - 2:00 amI bought an ACURA RSX and in an unfortunate accident it was totalled. After I went car shopping again and almost bought the RSX. I shopped around everywhere...and on the way home testdrove the ION. Wow, what a ride! It was smooth, quiet, and the horsepower was great. I wasnt able to get the leather interior and souped up sound system with the ACURA, but for under $20K, I bought the ION3 with every option available. What a bargain! Whoever stated the seat was uncomfortable must have been a large, or miserable guy, because I am 510, 170, and I have an AMPLE amount of room to move my legs.

Dont Buy This Car! - 2003 Saturn ION
By Christopher N - August 22 - 2:00 amAs far as I am concerned this car is the worst car Saturn has ever put out. Being a returning customer of Saturn, I expected a good quality car. However since we have brought it home it has been back to the dealership several times. Though there has not been any major mechanical problems yet, there have been a lot of annoying little things go wrong. For example lights burning out, steering wheel grinding, key getting stuck in the ignition three times, panels fell off on the inside, and the hood release broke. Not to mention the gas mileage has gone down. In my opinion a new car should not act this way. This experience has sworn me off to Saturns forever.

Test drive of the Saturn Ion - 2003 Saturn ION
By Mike25 - August 8 - 2:00 amTo make a long story short, the ride was nice. The car handled very smoothly with adequate power for its class, without being too noisy. But the car fails miserably on comfort. The cockpit of this "roomier" Saturn can best be described as claustrophobic. The center console felt like it was digging into my right leg the whole time. It actually felt painful after my 3 minute test drive. I am 6 feet tall, but even the salesperson, who looked to be about 58" said he had a problem with it. How could Saturn produce a new model with such an obious shortcoming? Did anyone look at this thing before it was put on the market?

My New Saturn Ion - 2003 Saturn ION
By echofairee - August 3 - 2:00 amI absolutely love this car! I wasnt even looking to get a new car but the people at Saturn of Orlando were so wonderful and the payments are so affordable that I couldnt say no! My new car has so many wonderful features and it looks so stylish too! I have never had power everything on a car...and the trunk is huge. I love the way it rides and how funky it looks. Its very unique looking.

Happy owner since new - 2003 Saturn ION
By cartopcamper - July 24 - 9:12 pmWeve owned since new a 2003 Saturn Ion 3 sedan with 5-speed manual transmission. It now has about 145K miles and is going strong. All of our 5 kids learned how to drive a stick in this car. The clutch finally needed replacement at 137K miles. I live in Southern California. While a daughter attended school near Boise, ID, Id drive up a couple times a year via Nevada back roads. I wouldnt see another vehicle for hours while driving through the desert, so Id drive 100 mph for long periods without a problem - still got great mpg. I still use this car if driving long trips by myself. Only problem for us was/is the ignition key switch issue - about $350 to fix, and I havent yet

Saturn ION 2 - 2003 Saturn ION
By aaronstoker - July 23 - 10:00 amI have really enjoied the Ion. It is sporty, stabble, smooth,I feel complete control and safe. It has good power and awesome guiding feathers; dash tells when chage oil, your operation of the car. Then intergity of the car seem to be a little noisey already.

A good car - 2003 Saturn ION
By AJ - June 14 - 7:56 pmMy dad bought the car new in 2004. And the two of us have put over 70,000 miles on it sense with very few problems. The greatest one being the starter, a factory problem, that we have had changed out twice (its a $30 part, with labor being at least 3 times the cost of the part). Other than that simply doing the basics, oil change, alignments etc. One notable experience was when i drove through 1 mile of flooded road over a foot of water and i made it through, no stalling or problems after exiting the water.
