Overview & Reviews
After 12 long years in production, Saturn is finally retiring its aging S-Series sedan and coupe in favor of the all-new Saturn Ion sedan and innovative quad coupe.
- Innovative rear-access doors on coupe, customer-focused dealers, numerous personalization options, great cargo capacity.
- Build quality not up to segment standards, unusual styling, lack of established service and repair history.

Former Corolla/Camry owner... - 2003 Saturn ION
By Photon - May 17 - 10:00 amSo far more pep than the Corolla; more room than a Camry, seat comfort is some- what of an issue but not bad at all. Its ALOT of vehicle for a lot less money. Cargo-room is especially nice:) Time will tell if these features(and the ride) hold up.

Ion2 is Awesome - 2003 Saturn ION
By maestromartin - April 3 - 10:00 amThe car is fun to drive and quite responsive. Its amazing to me how negative the official reveiw is...they need lessons in fun because thats what this car is! It is reliable, stylish, I WOULDNT HAVE BOUGHT THE CAR IF IT FELT CHEAP! Im a music teacher...the stereo/ cd player is great...especially on those huge symphonies. Handleing and stopping power are impressive.

Tough Compitition - 2003 Saturn ION
By Cgr80 - March 29 - 10:00 amThe 2003 Ion3 is in every way better than the past SL2. The SL2 gave the Escort a good run for the money...I thing that they needed to let "S- Series" go down in history, like the Cavalier has done. Since theyve changed it, it should stay that way. Standard features are those of a luxury car, and it makes me feel good to say to a stranger, oh, the lights cut off themselves, but thanks!

crashed - 2003 Saturn ION
By re-buy - February 25 - 2:00 amThe wife survived a 45 mph full frontal collision with our 2000 SL2 and walked away from it unscratched. These cars with their space-age cages do work. Thats why we went out and bought a ION3.This new ION3 is a vast improvement over the SL2s. We liked our previous vehicle. We love this one even more.Your gettting a well equipped, comfortable, well built and safe car for the money .Just ask my wife.

Good for the Money - 2003 Saturn ION
By dmfreeland - January 17 - 12:56 amOverall I think the ION is a decent car, especially considering the price. There were a few downsides to buying a car the first year it was offered. 1)I had to deal with a few recalls 2)The ION back then was more expensive than the newer IONs . 3) OnStar (and I think satellite radio) were not options on 03 models. This is a fun car to drive and overall I really enjoy the ION. However, Saturn parts are more expensive than most other makes, some parts have to be ordered and while I do drive a lot, I have had to put an estimated $5,000 into repairs.

My Saturn ION 3 - 2003 Saturn ION
By Aimee Hagerty - January 9 - 10:00 amThis is my second Saturn. My husband and I traded our 2002 s series for the larger ion because we are expecting our first child. We LOVE this car. But unfortunately, we have developed some problems with this model. We are told that these things can happen with a new model. Although Saturn is doing what they can to fix this. Its still been an upsetting experience. Still, we love the concept of the Saturn car company.
