  • CVT problems - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Purchased in April 2014 (same month vehicle was assembled). I was aware of the CVT issues before purchasing but hoped that Nissan had fixed the problem with newer builds. No such luck. Last weekend the problems began. Shudders, power loss, surging etc.. Pathfinder no longer safe to drive. Nissan replacing transmission under warranty. 19,000km on the odometer. No other complaints with this vehicle.

  • Good Crossover - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

We bought this pathfinder AWD back in May 2014 we have put over 6,500mi on it and have had no problems. After owning an Expedition for several years initially I was hesitant to move to this crossover especially because the bad press for CVTs. The overall experience has been positive still able to tow my 18 boat at the same time save gas for daily use. Although the switch from traditional automatic to CTV is not 100% transparent (you need to adapt between keep pressing down the gas vs. hold or overdrive vs. automatically braking with engine for downhills) at the end of the day it deliver a good experience.

  • Excellent value for the money - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

So, far weve been very impressed with our SL Pathfinder. The Tech Package seems like a worthwhile option with the Navigation as well as the Bose Waveguide system. The SUV drives like a car; extremely smooth and capable. Some reviews take a shot at the Pathfinders V6 as being sluggish, but let me tell you, the car has no problems accelerating quickly up to 80mph when passing; its very responsive. Front and back seat room is ample, and the cargo area isnt shabby either. The leather seating and surfaces are soft, and supple. Im not a fan of some of the plastics used, but hey, its not an Infiniti. Provided the car holds up mechanically, the Pathfinder will be ours for years to come.

  • Presidents Day Bargain - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

We purchased our 2014 PathFinder SV on a very snowy presidents day. In the last few months we have logged almost 5,000 enjoyable, uneventful miles. This includes a road trip and numerous trips to sporting events hauling 4 kids, 2 adults, and 3 sets of hockey equipment. The ride is great, handling good, and acceleration smooth. So smooth that it is accelerating faster than you at first realize. Mileage has been very good, usually 22-23 in mixed driving (overdrive enabled, towing mode disabled for normal driving). I am looking forward to seeing how well it handles our boat. No shudders, or hick-ups, at all... Just enjoying the ride.

  • Great Family Car - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

This car has everything that we wanted and needed for a family car. The best feature that this car comes with is the sliding rows. When you have children in a car seat is that the middle you are able to completely move it forward without having to take the carseat out. Also the leg room in the front passenger has with a carseat in back is awesome. We traded in my two year old Ford Explorer to the Pathfinder because of the lack of leg room and every time someone needed to sit in the third row we needed to take the carseat out.

  • Overall - poor designed car - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder

    1. The Noise coming from the CVT engine is awful. Something that was never heard in any other car. Nissan Canada claim this is normal for this car. 2. connection between the fuel consumption that Nissan advertised and reality is absolutely non-exist. Expect around 30% more. 3. Quality of interior materials super low. Just move your hand in the inner part of the steering wheel.. Hope you will not cut yourself from that poorly manufactured plastic parts.

  • Avoid a 45K error. - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I bought a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Plat with Premium options and the vehicle had 9 miles on it. I drove the vehicle 50 miles to my home and the next morning there was an i-Key system error or similar. A little later the check engine light came on. OBD code was P0850. I was told there was a fob programming but it turned out to be a shifter assembly part needed to be replaced. Needless to say, I had to bring the vehicle back to get it fixed. A couple of days later my wife was sitting in the passenger seat and I noticed the passenger airbag was off. Back to the dealer and I am told the seat was not calibrated. They fixed it, yesterday the issue with the airbag is back.

  • Super Charger Problems - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Purchased suv in July of 2014. Two months later, I was driving I heard a pop and thought I had run over a metal band. As I continued to drive I noticed the suv was overheating. Called dealership and they had suv towed in. They also arranged a rental for me. Approximately 10 days later, I picked up suv. Was told super charger seized and they had to pull out engine to replace it. Then in January of 2015 same thing happened. SUV towed in and was given a rental. Approx 8 days later, I p/u SUV and told same exact problem. Now I am afraid to take long trips. I fear that super charger will seize again. Also noticed that Nissan no longer making the hybrid. I assume mine is a lemon.

  • Transmission Problems - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

we just turned over 13,000km and the transmission failed. The Nissan dealer outlined they ordered a new one and would install it at no charge. Good deal. Problem- They put a remanufactured transmission in a brand new vehicle. BAD BAD BAD. Check the warranty documents as they are allowed to do this under their manufacturers warranty. I cannot believe that you spend 50K on a new vehicle and when you have a problem they put a USED transmission in it and call it new....

  • absolutely the best SUV you can buy for the money. - 2014 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

First off, this is our second 2014 Pathfinder. We purchased a standard SL V-6 Model last year, and grew to love it so much, we traded in my eight year old Camry hybrid for a Hybrid model Pathfinder. It retains all the comfort and smooth handling of its V-6 cousin, but adds in some very impressive MPG numbers to boot. Im only on my third tank of gas after owning it for two months, and Fuel Economy has improved with every tankful (27, 29, and now 31 MPG). Its actually a bit quieter then its V-6 cousin, due to the extra sound deadening material, and the transition from engine to EV mode is a lot less noticeable then it was in my old Camry hybrid. Nissan gets an A+ for this model.
