This Year's Model Updates:

This year the SE Comfort Package adds a six-disc CD changer, and leather seating is optional on Off-Road and SE trims. Satellite radio is now available.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, above-average off-road ability, well-laid-out interior, flexible seating design, ample storage space throughout.
Cons:
  • Tight rear-seat quarters for adults, on-road handling not as refined as competitors, too much hard plastic inside, inconsistent fit and finish.

  • Nice first impression - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

We looked at Ford and Mercury products before deciding on the Pathfinder, We liked the size, exterior design, interior and features. After driving it on several road trips we noticed and issue with the steering wheel rattling around on road imperfections. It has been back to the dealership numerous times. They adjusted the steering force which helped a bit but hasnt solved the problem. We drove another vehicle off the lot and the rattle or vibration didnt show up. The dealership service manager says it is in spec and says it it normal. I wouldnt buy this vehicle again if the steering and or suspension issues would have shown up in the test drive. I wouldnt buy this vehicle again.

This is my third Pathfinder and the best one yet. Im very happy with the changes in design and the size was a needed change for me as my family keeps getting bigger! My wife even enjoys driving it, as it handles comfortably like a car. Look for me to get the next one when it comes out.

  • If it had better MPG, Id be in love - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

Wonderful SUV. Feels like a truck. Something "I" like & my wife has grown to like. We gave up our Mitsu. Endeavor XLS for this. That rode fantastic. This isnt as smooth, but like I said, I prefer a truck feel & my wife feels safer with that feeling now as well, after all, we got it for her. We test drove almost the entire gamut of SUVs out there. Durango, Tahoe, Explorer, Expedition (I Loved, that one, my wife didnt like the size), Pilot, Navigator, Highlander, 4- Runner & Sequoia. We also, drove the Armada & would have gotten that if it wasnt for the size (wife again) & the fact that the one we wanted was going to take too long to get. The Pathfinder looked (wifes term, not mine!) "Cute"

  • Great SUV - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

This SUV is great in every way possible. Purchased this car in 2007, the car has 40,000 miles on it, the only problem is the tire pressure sensor and was replaced by the dealer in, less than 20 min for free because I have 6 years warranty or 75,000. I traded my pathfinder for 2010 maxima to get better mileage. Sure enough the next morning returned the maxima and got my truck back. The ride and the confidence you have when you drive this truck make it worth the extra money for the gas. I love this truck and after what happened I appreciate it even more.

  • Great Buy 2006 Pathfinder S - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

This is my first SUV. I love the ride and the power the v6 provides. Car feels heavy and well built. Love the third row option, its tight but what do you expect. Price was also an issue, and i think its the best bang for your buck as far as looks and performance. I also like the 6000 lbs tow capacity.

  • Best Bang for your buck out there. - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

I cant say enough about the Pathfinder. I read all of the reviews out there. The interior room is smaller than you think, but unless you lug around 4 63" adults all the time, youll be fine. XM radio is great and DOES display the song information, you just have to set it up right. Who cares about fuel economy...its an SUV! If youre buying it for fuel economy youre not buying the right vehicle. As far as SUVs go, I think the fuel economy is great. Car is priced extremely competitively and has great features. My only complaint thus far is that the sunroof and steering wheel controls do not light up at night. This truck drives like a dream and I have no regrets about my purchase.

  • Best vehicle weve owned - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

This has been the best vehicle we have ever purchased. We now have 55000 miles and it just keeps going without anything going wrong. Hall Nissan service guys make you feel like we bought a BMW--always helpful, never try to oversell anything you dont need--it is because of their service, We will buy another Nissan. My only complaint is the fold-down front passenger seat--it is uncomfortable after about an hour due to the removed area of lower lumber that allows it to fold flat--dont get that seat--shell hate it three weeks later and tell you! Xenon headlight option would be great-- they still dont offer it on the 2010-- or Id be trading in--Ill wait for 2011 and see--!

  • Great Ride - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

We were in the market for a 4Runner and test drove a few. But in the meantime my company offered a decent discount on Nissan. So we bought a Pathfinder LE. We have had it for about 3 months now and we love it. No rattles or squeaks, it is built very well. The only complaint is the gas mileage. I am currently getting 17 mpg. You will feel every bump, it does ride like a truck. Overall, it is the best vehicle we have owned so far at this point.

I purchased my pathfinder le almost 2 years ago with 12,000 miles.. The car now has 35,000.. I have never had any problem with this car, it handles the snow amazingly since I live in Chicago. Much better car than 4runner or envoy. It has great look and performance and I am 100% satesfied with my purchase and I would buy it again.
