This Year's Model Updates:

This year the SE Comfort Package adds a six-disc CD changer, and leather seating is optional on Off-Road and SE trims. Satellite radio is now available.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, above-average off-road ability, well-laid-out interior, flexible seating design, ample storage space throughout.
Cons:
  • Tight rear-seat quarters for adults, on-road handling not as refined as competitors, too much hard plastic inside, inconsistent fit and finish.

Had a 2003 Pathfinder lease and took a 2006 after 3 years. Like this one better. Roomier, smoother, more space, better ride and handling. Love the style too. Got both comfort and performance pkgs. Love it!! Gas economy is 17 back and forth to work etc., highway 21+. Only issue was backup lights didnt work at first, and dealer replaced the transmission in order to fix em(??). I found that odd. But its trouble free ever since.

We traded my wifes 1999 Grand Cherokee in for the Pathfinder. We have no regrets... the Pathfinder has been far superior to our Gr. Cherokee (which had seen its 3rd rear axle failure, among other things, in 70K miles). It has 80 more horsepower and gets 3 mpg (average) better mileage. In 6 months, we have put 15,000 trouble free miles on the Pathfinder. These miles includes a couple 2,000 mile trip with our 7 year old twins. The flexiblity of the the 3-row seating allowed for one to sit in the 2nd row and the other in the 3rd, and provide plenty of room for all our luggage/gear. The Bose stereo, power, styling and comfort are excellent. I would recommend the Pathfinder to anyone.

I looked at all competing makes and models and it came down to the Pathfinder LE and the Toyota 4-Runner Limited (V8). The Pathfinder won but the Toyota was not far behind. Plenty of power, Great styling, excellent choice of options and layout. It also gets great gas mileage for a SUV of this size. I bought this Pathfinder with 15 MPG city and 21 MPG highway on the window. I can get 20.4 highway and 15 to 16 around town and average somewhere 17.4 allover. To me thats excellent. My previous Explorer Sport Trac got 16 highway and 13 around town and had a hard time passing a bicycle. I have added the (factory) XM radio and (factory) Ipod interface. Shocks are next for a tighter ride. Buy one!

  • Best SUV for your money - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

The model I own is a SE 4x2 with comfort, leather and premium packages. Ive only had it for a few weeks, but so far there is no problem. I spent several weeks test- driving and checking out other mid- size SUVs, i.e. 4Runner, Envoy, Explorer, before deciding on the Pathfinder. It is definitely the best SUV out there for the money, and yet there are exceptional features that other SUVs dont have. I have owned several Nissan cars, but this is my first SUV. Im very satisfied.

I was looking for a bigger suv than my 04 Suzuki XL-7 and so far Im glad I chose the Pathfinder. Ive only had it for a week, but no major complaints. It rides very well, hardly any road noise, a lot of power and it looks good. So far, so good, so very, very good!

Love the space of the pathfinder. Third row a plus. I have always owned Chevy SUV, after having this I wont go back. Engine noise a little hard to get used to-reminds me of a 4 cylinder sound. But it is great on the get go, sometimes a little too much! My pathfinder has every option available and the controls are easy to learn. Comfortable seats and lots of head and leg room.

We just brought home our new SE 06 Pathfinder and love it. We upgraded to the comfort package with the A/C vents for the third row seats. I could not believe they expect to cool the third row with two tiny vents in the second. We test drove on a very HOT afternoon and I wouldnt put my child or even my dog back there without access to an A/C vent.

Traded in our second Quest for a 2006 Nissan SE Pathfinder. This SUV is by far the best i have ever driven or ownded. The gas mileage could be better, but this baby has plenty of power with a 4.0 Liter V6. Very comfy and a great ride!
