This Year's Model Updates:

This year the SE Comfort Package adds a six-disc CD changer, and leather seating is optional on Off-Road and SE trims. Satellite radio is now available.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, above-average off-road ability, well-laid-out interior, flexible seating design, ample storage space throughout.
Cons:
  • Tight rear-seat quarters for adults, on-road handling not as refined as competitors, too much hard plastic inside, inconsistent fit and finish.

I just purchased this pathfinder. We looked at everything, 4runner, Escape, liberty, exconoix, etc... This was the most car for the money. I would have paid the same or 4 to 5,000 more for the other vehicles. This is much bigger than the other suvs. It was a lot less expensive as the 4runner. We even looked at the honda ridgeline, it was 33,000. So far this is a great fun suv. It looks good, has plenty of room inside, fun to drive, great cd player, good information center, good lights for night driving, great steering, tight steering, so so on gas usage, so far 15.6 mpg. in the city. Cant expect great gas milage with this size vehicle. Seats fold flat, good cargo area, great a/c.

  • Close, but not quite the best of SUVs. - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

I purchased my brand new 2006 Pathfinder SE with all of the package options, leather, sunroof, etc. Its been a great truck so far with no major issues, but it still has its flaws. It feels solid and strong and is very quick at the same time, however, there is nothing that irritates me more than a new vehicle that is already sounding like a cheap, old car. How do you explain noises that just started to appear after 12,000 miles? I think Ill purchase a European car again after this one goes, omething more refined.

We traded our 2004 Chev Trailblazer for this 06 Pathfinder. It handles much better than the Trailblazer. This Pathfinder is narrower and smaller, it has the power when needed. I would buy another Pathfinder in the future.

  • Very few problems. LOVE this car! - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

I bought my 06 Pathfinder in November of 2006. It had previously been a rental vehicle and had 29000 miles on it. Today the odometer reads almost 119,000 miles. I hesitate to write this review because I dont want to jinx myself, but we really dont ever have problems with it. The only issue that has ever come up is the fuel sensor that needed to be replaced two or three years ago. The vehicle was still under warranty, so not a big deal. I LOVE MY PATHFINDER! I average about 18 mpg and that is probably equal time in the city and the highway. We took it on a trip to North Carolina two years ago (over 2000 miles for us) and on the straight stretch of I-40, we got about 24mpg.

  • Favorite Car Yet... - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

Ive had all kinds of Nissan cars and truck and this one is my favorite to date. I personally dont view Armada/Tahoe type trucks as practical, so I was pleased to find a nice looking reasonably sized vehicle that has seating for 7. It feels big inside and is a very comfortable ride. The extended rear is nice for when family/friends are visiting and we can fit more than 2 adults and 2 car seats. The extra storage is nice too when you are stuffing groceries and strollers in the back. All the options and buttons to press work well and are conveniently located. Also, I went on vacation 1 week after this purchase and had a Ford Explorer rental... it was 1/2 the truck the Pathfinder is...

This is one of the best SUVs you will find.... it is as tough as a hummer and as luxurious as a range rover. it is an all in one package. if you decide to purchase a pathfinder you arent making a bad decision.. it is as important as buying a house... it is as fun to drive as it is to tow... and rides like you are riding on clouds... you could be going 120 and feel like you are going 35.... be careful about the speeding tickets... this is a wonderful vehicle not just for you but fot the whole family....

  • Great SUV - 2006 Nissan Pathfinder

Ive had my Pathfinder for 6 months, put 19,000 mi on it to date, and loved it. Ive pulled a 3500 lb boat several times, and while that drops mileage to about 12 (75-80 mph) it has enough motor to keep you in the left lane. When not towing, it will out accelerate most "Pretty" cars. Handles better than most vehicles Ive owned, and is the quietest by far. Bose stereo rocks. I love this vehicle, cant wait to put some performance rubber and engine enhancements on it.

My wife and I were shopping for a Grand Cherokee. After looking at the Cherokee, we crossed the street to take a look at the Pathfinders. It did not take long for us to fall in love with this SUV. The Pathfinder pretty much sold itself.
