This Year's Model Updates:

The Pathfinder has been completely redesigned for 2005 and now includes third-row seating and a larger, more powerful V6.

Pros:
  • Most powerful V6 in the class, above average off-road ability, well-laid-out interior, flexible seating design, ample storage space throughout.
Cons:
  • Tight rear-seat accommodations, on-road handling not as refined as car-based competitors, some odd interior materials.

  • Overall Great SUV - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I comparison shopped with all the other comparable SUVs and this one just stuck out. It has great interior and exterior looks. The engine is wonderful too. You definitely have to get the premium and comfort package. The bose system is great. The only problems I have are of course, the gas mileage, but I wasnt expecting much anyway. The other is fit and finish. My steering wheel spokes are crooked and just not put together well. These are just little things though. I would definitely buy this vehicle. I bought through carsdirect and got it for almost $1,000 under invoice.

  • Nice Exterior/Poor Quality - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Ive owned four Nissans in the last five years including a 99.5 Pathfinder SE 4WD, and went out immediately and bought the 2005 new body style when it came out. This SUV has a rugged, great looking exterior. However, the vehicle is plagued with quality issues. The fuel gauge is not working (bad fuel level sending unit). The CD player is not working. The rear driver passenger window is not working. Also, there are gaps in the upholstery where seems are not sewn together properly and foam is pushing through. All of these malfunctions hit right after the 36,000 warranty expired (if you get one, get the extended warranty). Also, dont expect any assistance from Nissan

  • 2005 Pathfiner LE - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I have had the new pathfiner for over a month now. I had the 2001 for 4 years. I like the extra power and room from the 2005 and all the luxury features the LE offers. I have no complains so far except for the squeaky brakes when Im in reverse. I will have to take it back to the dealer to inspection.

  • Happy with my purchase - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

I really like my pathfinder. Its loaded out except satellite radio. It has a great amount of power, Nav is really nice, front seats are comfortable, Its a nice ride. It looks good and feels good to drive. No real problems.

  • New Block needs Old "chip" - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Really like the truck, it handles mother nature pretty well. However someone needs to tell me how closely they "drafted" the test truck to claim 20mpg. Maybe a new programmable chip (like the ones available for Ford F- series diesels or other performance vehicles) is in order?!

  • Love It - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I love my new Pathfinder. I just bought a 05 LE. The only things I hate about it is it sways in the wind and the doors do not automatically lock once it is put into Drive. My gas door always opens by itself if I dont lock the doors. I am taking it back to the Dealership tomorrow.

  • "Going through a transition" - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Going from a front wheel drive, 5-manual, german sedan to the Pathfinder was quite a leap for me. So far, this vehicle has made the transition as painless as possible. Im enjoying it so much that I took off a few days of work, just to spend some time on the road. Unfortunately, its been raining the whole time!

  • Excellent SUV - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

I have really enjoyed this vehicle. There were a few minor adjustments that needed to be made to the vehicle (squeaky stereo compartment) which the dealer fixed. Otherwise, the power is excellent and for a SUV, it rides pretty well.

  • Super SUV with One Exception - 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Traded in 2004 Toyota 4Runner for 2005 Pathy LE. Nissan Pathfinder wins hands down having outstanding engine power and handling with all the bells and whistles compared to their competitors. The only thing Im not happy with is the rattles in the interior cabin. For the amount of money spent on a vehicle and type of technology used there is no reason for the rattles.
