This Year's Model Updates:

All 2003 Pathfinders will offer optional satellite radio, with a choice of XM or Sirius services. The LE model receives a standard leather-appointed interior, while SE models feature restyled wheels. Both models also feature a new four-spoke steering wheel and electronic rear-hatch window release. For safety, there is a new Vehicle Dynamic Control Package that bundles Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), traction control and a tire-pressure monitoring system. Two items no longer offered are the manual transmission and the optional navigation system. Guess you have to buy a map.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6 engine, carlike interior, solid reliability record, rear entertainment system option, available All-Mode 4WD system on LE models.
Cons:
  • Tight rear accommodations, high price tag, hard-to-fold rear seats.

  • Not as good as expected - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

Driving is acceptable, but the brakes had a problem with the pedal going lower than the gas. Dealer had to go over it several times, but this was a safety hazard. The A/C developed a leak, and the Service Engine light cost $900 to get a leak fixed. The shield under the engine fell down due to a corroded fastener breaking.

  • A GOOD OVERALL SUV - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

THE CAR IS GOOD,BUT IT LACKS SOME LEG ROOM IN THE BACK. IT IS HARD TO FIT THREE PERSONS IN THE BACK , IT WONT BE CONFORTABLE. THE BACK SEATS ARE NOT EASY TO FOLD SO THE CARGO SPACE CAN BE USED. THE SEATBELT BUCKLES GET STUCK UNDER THE SEAT OFTEN, AND IT IS HARD TO TAKE THEM OUT. THE CAR RIDES VERY NICE AND HAS A LOT POWER.

  • FABULOUS - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

This vehicle is by far the best Ive ever owned... and Ive owned about 15 cars so far. The interior is very plush and luxurious and the amenities are free flowing. The vehicle handles marvelously for an S.U.V. The ONLY complaint is gas mileage. But then again, it is an S.U.V.

  • Better than I expected - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

My wife and I just bought our LE 4x4 3 days ago, and we are very satisfied with our decision. For us, it was down to the Pathfinder and the Pilot. My wife favored the Pilot because the on- road ride quality is a little better than the Pathfinders. However, we both feel that the Pathfinders interior is much more luxurious than the Pilots. I was board looking at, and driving the Pilot. I mean,it will probably have better resale b/c it is a Honda, but I would much rather be seen in the Pathfinder. The wood trim with the tan leather looks great - esp with the creamy white exterior paint. Very upscale - moreso than some of the Infiniti QX4s I have seen.

  • PRETTY DAMN CLOSE TP PERFECT - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

WELL, I DROVE A LOWERED, 2 DOOR INTEGRA FOR 5 YEARS, THEN I DECIDED TO GET SOMETHING A LITTLE BIGGER. IM STILL TRYING TO GET USED TO ALL THE ROOM. ITS GOT THE PERFECT AMOUNT OF ROOM FOR A MONSTEROUS SYSTEM IN THE TRUNK, AND THATS WHAT MINES GONNA HAVE!!!! AND I HAVE HAULED ABOUT A 1600 LB LOAD NO PROBLEM, EVEN IN 2WHEEL DRIVE!

  • Best Value in Class - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

We tested the X5 (gorgeous machine for those with lots of cash and tiny suitcases), Envoy SLT & Trailblazer LTZ (when will American cars dispose of flimsy plastic class-less interiors), Honda Pilot(mini-van in wolf-attire, but a very nice car for 30Gs - but no XM, no heated seats?, no moonroof? available), Anyway, we got a loaded LE with XM, brush gaurds front and rear, and every option save for the entertainment system, and only paid 32gs. Over $4,000 off of sticker. Great value and great car. Fast too.

  • Great SUV!! - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

Had this SUV almost a year now and I love it. The engine is very powerful and smooth as silk...great pick-up. This comes at the expense of gas mileage but I expected this. I go to the beach a lot and it has no problems traversing heavy, loose sand. Interior build quality is excellant....no "cheapo" feel here. Folding the rear seats is simple...who said it was difficult???

  • Gotta try a PATHFINDER - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder

This has been by far and away the best vehicle Ive ever owned. Fast, sturdy and air tight..I honestly do not have one squeak. The families growing so Im looking forward to a fullsize SUV from Nissan (rumored anyway).

  • Best in Show - 2003 Nissan Pathfinder
    By -

This is by far the best mid-size SUV on the market. I drove them all, and the Pathfinder has the most bang for the buck, great acceleration, and decent towing capabilities. The back seat could offer a bit more room, but it will be fine for 2 full size adults.
