Overview & Reviews
The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.
New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

Best in Price Range - 2003 Nissan Murano
By walbee - October 10 - 2:00 amSteering is almost as good as my 2002 TBird. Fun to drive. Great tow vehicle for my 3500 lb. boat and trailer. Love the CVT on hills with speed control on. No annoying downshifts. I test drove the FX-35 and liked the Murano better, and got all the same features for $10K less. Whats not to like about this car and it really turns heads.

Awesome Vehicle - 2003 Nissan Murano
By mikedee - October 6 - 11:50 amI dont normally write reviews, but after driving many CUVs including the new Ford Edge, i bought an 03 Murano. It has been a great pleasure to drive, is classy, comfortable and smart on the inside without being snotty, holds cargo roads like a truck but drives like a car (good clearance and AWD for mountain roads, but its no 4Runner). I cant comment on reliability yet, but it had 70k when I got it and was/is running great. if youre looking for a CUV type vehicle, at the very least you should test drive one of these - and dont worry, the initially weird CVT goes unnoticed after getting used to it.

Perfect Vehicle - 2004 Nissan Murano
By RoAr - October 4 - 2:00 amThis car is amazing! It has everything you need. I just took it to the snow and it handled beautifully. And its the 2WD model. It has a great ride and it is very powerful when passing others on the highway. Ive also received many complements on the design. I highly recommend it. I payed $29,000 for the SL 2WD with Sunroof package, floor mats, and wind deflector.

Murano Wins me over - 2004 Nissan Murano
By DerekD - October 4 - 2:00 amMostly a car guy and moving into this SUV seg took a good leap of faith for me. My needs are performance, handling, and decent gas mileage. The Murano meets all my pesky criteria and coming from my 02 Maxima it does even a better job at some things that the Max did poorly.

Now you have it now you dont - 2016 Nissan Murano
By Cookie - October 1 - 5:18 amI have owned my Murano since November 2016. I love my car. The only problem is my Bluetooth works intermittently. I have taken it in for service twice. Ive had a software update. When I took it in I was able to see my text messages. Now I cant. Also, Ive spoken to Nissan support and noone has a specific answer. I think nissan should have a solution for this since it is a feature.

Murano is a great SUV - 2006 Nissan Murano
By Murano Fan - September 30 - 5:20 amExcellent fuel economy for an SUV. Has styling, comfort, power and class. Interior is accented very well and has a luxury look. Exterior is very stylish with a solid build and classy look. I get a lot of people that want to look at the inside and when they do, they rave about it.

Renault is tarnishing Nissans reliability - 2003 Nissan Murano
By mkh142 - September 28 - 12:12 amThese Nissans in many respects are Renaults in disguise. Renault has consistently produced unreliable cars for decades and now that they own Nissan, many of Nissans products are suffering. The Nissan Murano looks nice, and has nice features, but it is a reliability disaster as with every other "Renault". They are not designed to last, but instead designed to be "profitable" to the company. Id reccomended not buying and going for a more reliable brand.

The SUV I never got - 2016 Nissan Murano
By Brice Baker - September 26 - 9:21 pmI look up the SUV spoke to 3 or 4 dealers. No one had the SUV or tried to order the SUV for me so I do got a different SUV. I was looking for a Hybird SUV PLATINUM it was between the Murano and the Highlander and Edmunds said the Highlander was over priced so did consumers report. You dont list a Murano in a hybrid under trim type.
