Model Overview:

The Nissan Murano was one of the first midsize crossovers introduced in the United States and quickly became a popular alternative to more traditional SUVs thanks to its taut, carlike driving character and avant-garde styling. Later Nissan Muranos are notable for their higher-quality interiors, updated technology features and higher fuel economy ratings.

New or used, the Murano is definitely worth a look if you're on the hunt for a midsize crossover with seating for five. In reviews, our editors have generally praised this Nissan's sophisticated appearance, stylish and comfortable interior and strong acceleration. Middling cargo capacity and poor rearward visibility are our main complaints about the Nissan Murano. You'll find competing models that are better on one or both of these counts, but most won't match the Murano's combination of performance and style.

I got an 09 le murano, I love the the way it handles and how comfortable it is. The thing i dont like is how in the winter when it snows the rims always get snow building up and makes it shake or ride ruff down the road. I know all rims do that after alot of snow but not everytime it snows. Another thing is my driver door has frozen shut on me twice from just he slush splashing up. I dont know if i got a bad seal or what? other then that i love it! Where do u get new tires i cant find any store that carries 235/55/20?

  • Fun to Drive for SUV - 2005 Nissan Murano

Although a crossover, this SUV is like driving a sportscar. It will hopefully get more consistent gas mileage after the engine breaks in. Absolutley love it unless the alternator break as in a recall. Google it and find out if you VIN applies. Fortunately mine does not. Absolutley endorse this vehicle.

An extremely comfortable vehicle with excellent handling. It performs flawlessly on icy and snow covered roads. The sleek exterior is an eye catcher.

  • My thoughts on the 2009 Murano SL - 2009 Nissan Murano

No problems in the first year/15,000 miles of ownership. Just returned from a 2610 mile road trip up the coast of California to Oregon and back home to San Diego with a 2 day stop in Yosemite. We traveled twisting mountain back roads, country 2 lane roads to freeways and have to say this is the best touring vehicle we have ever owned.

  • "SWEET" - 2005 Nissan Murano

our 2003 marano is the sweetest suv , that we have owned. it is an upscale fancy suv. it is sooo comfortable and so smooth to drive...it is roomy inside to fit 3 comfortably in the back with reclineing seats on both sides in the back,,sweet...it also has an adjustable gas pedal that is also an important amenity for an suv... we have no problem with the cvt transmission, its great, with great power... we have kept every service checkup and have had not one problem or gliche at all... the color is sunlit copper and black interior very southwestern to me,,, i love it.

  • Luxury without the price tag - 2006 Nissan Murano

This vehicle is exactly what I was looking for. I was debating between the SUV and the Sedan, and found that this was the best of both worlds. Its not huge, but more than enough room for me and my passengers. The intellikey is great, and even though its no BMW or Lexus, I still feel the same ride and solidity of a high priced luxury vehicle. I would reccomend the touring package, or at least the leather package. You can now get this car at invoice, and the SL with the touring comes to like $31,500. Overall Ive only had this car for a couple days, but definitely worth the money.

  • Not Good if in an Accident - 2003 Nissan Murano

It was in a little fender bender. No air bags deployed; the car that hit me and my car were only going ten miles an hour but the repairs for my Murano were over $8000. My car was hit on the drivers side on the edge of the bumper. From the outside it looked like only the bumper was damaged, yet the battery encasement holder was pushed into the transmission and a whole new transmission was needed. Am wondering if this was just a fluke, or if these cars are just fragile.

  • TERRIBLE RELIABILITY!! DO NOT PURCHASE MURANOS!! - 2003 Nissan Murano
    By -

HEARD ALL OVER OF THE SAME PROBLEMS ONCE I STARTED HAVING ISSUES W/MY MURANO. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MURANOS!!! Bought used, had engine timing/engine chain problems HAD TO REPLACE WHOLE ENGINE MOTOR!! can cost thousands, mechanics also report problems w/ under hood accessibility on front end due to everything being compacted so poor front end design which takes more time&labor costs for mechanics to fix, also had work done on ball joints, tie rods and rear sway/axle bars TOO MANY MECHANICAL PROBLEMS for a foreign vehicle w/ only 120k miles.

  • Eye Catching Design - 2003 Nissan Murano
    By -

My wife and I have had our eye on the Murano since we first got a glimpse of it last summer. We stopped by the dealership to check it out and fell in love with styling and performance of this "SUV". It has ample storage for her to tool around town with our 2 girls, and plenty of power to appeal to the sports car enthusiest like myself. I have a 2001 Maxima, but I find myself wanting to trade cars with her. Shell never let that happen. The list of standard features is generous and plenty of whorthwhile options to pick from. Another winner Nissan!
