  • 2006 Bad Front Brakes - 2006 Nissan Murano

When you test drive your car, check braking in reverse. We never tested this feature and after getting the car home we heard a squeal backing up that got progressively worse. Took it to the local Nissan dealership, Browns/Fairfax,VA they machined the front rotors. The car had 1800 miles on it and was less then a month old. This helped the situation greatly but did not eradicate it so I took the car back and they said nothing was wrong, the noise was within industry stadards per Nissan. We then took the car back to the dealership where we purchased the car,Sheehy of Manassas and upon inspection they replaced the brake pads. This was done out of pocket as Nissan would not warranty.

I purchased this car back in March of 2006. i have 7500 miles on car now. It has been quite an exhilirating ride to say the least. I find it is very quick and responsive for an suv. I have yet to experience 25 mpg on hwy, best I have done is avg 21hwy and 17 city and thats stepping on the gas pedal like there is an egg beneath it. I have owned an 01 Avalon and a 98 4Runner. I was happy with these vehicles but I wanted to combine the best of both worlds (suv heght & sports sedan handling), and still keep reasonable price. I crossed the tracks from Toyota to Nissan for this one model because I liked the size of the interior and features offered. It has a rigid ride over bumps.

  • Could be the best SUV of all - 2006 Nissan Murano

The Murano is close to perfection, compared to any other SUV,except for just a couple aggravating things. It drives and handles amazingly well, but rides like a truck. It is fun to drive, has an extremely comfortable and versatile interior with many clever features, but exclude the dashboard from that. The engine and CVT transmission are pure delight... smooth, quiet, powerful, leaves you always feeling like you are in command. And, it is extremely responsive except that it feels a little slow off the line... mostly an illusion. The seats are fantastic, and unlike most Japanese vehicles, you can adjust them to accommodate tall people with long legs. Visibility is very poor to the rear.

  • Nissan Does Not Stand Behind Their Product. - 2006 Nissan Murano

My Murano only had 58,461 miles on it when my transfer case fell to pieces. Replacement cost $3,800. Ive always driven it well and have done oil changes on time. I was under the 60,000 miles warrenty and my 5 year warrenty had only expired by three months. I called Nissan to see if they would stand behind their product. I waited three weeks before the represenative told me No, based on that I didnt do all my oil changes at the Nissan dealership. They didnt look at the fact that I did do all my repairs at the Nissan dealership. Ive done research online and there are a lot of unhappy Murano owners, that have had the same problem with their transmission. This should have been a recall.

  • Love My Murano! - 2006 Nissan Murano

I love my car, and I tell everyone! I get asked how I like it by interested strangers and tell them about the 26 MPG highway (22 city - I drive less aggressively than most though) people seem surprised that is gets the same MPG as my maxima did. My friends called it the YAV - Yuppie Assault Vehicle until I took it camping. Dont let the leather seats fool you - the Murano handled the dirt roads, streams and beach as well as my moms Jeep! I cant wait to get a tow-bar to pull the toys. This is my 2nd Murano I upgraded from a 2wdS to the 4wdSE and will drive it as long as it goes!

Best SUV I have ever owned! Have had it 2 years, and am drooling over the new one! Cant see myself without a Murano ever again. Tranny is great, good gas mileage, hauls my toys very nicely (4 wheelers, snowmobiles, waverunners) and my dogs love it. I average 20 MPG, around 23 on the freeway on trips, with fairly aggresive driving. Highly recommend this vehicle to anyone looking!

  • even better! - 2006 Nissan Murano

I bought the first Murano in 2003 an loved it. Decided to trade it for a new one with all the gadgets. Navigation system is wonderful, as well as DVD. The car is much quieter and feels more refined than the first model. That improves the fun of driving it, as long as you like quiet, comfortable cars. Would recommend it to anyone. By far the best SUV for the price!!!!

  • Wow, is all i have to say!!! - 2006 Nissan Murano

Ok, what can i say about my beauty?? I leased 06 S AWD. I wished i could have afforded the next model; but am very happy with my Murano. Its very spacious inside especially with two growing kids (back seat reclines) just perfect in my book! seats are very comfortable for fabric; that is. Drove this car to S.C.(12 hour drive) and back with no problems whatsoever. This is the most comfortable vehicle i have leased. At the end of my lease, I will more than likely purchase or if the style remains somewhat the same get another one; of course, THE WORKS!

  • Overall its OK - 2006 Nissan Murano

Had my 2006 nissan murano SL AWD since Feb 2013. Overall its an ok car. Gas mileage is alright, im averaging 18 mpg on premium. So far I have had 2 problems. I replaced struts at 102k, bought it at 88k, Electronic coupling assembly broke, repair cost anywhere from $1000-$2000. I simply just unplugged it. Everything else seems to be fine. The CVT takes some getting used to especially on decelaration. As for the BOSE, theres nothing wrong with it at all, its a pretty powerfull system, i dont know why people hate it. Words are loud and clear and the bass is powerful. what more can you want from a sound system.
