  • The most car fun Ive had in years - 2006 Nissan Murano
    By -

Not since my first Maxima years ago have I experienced so much pleasure in driving a vehcile. There is nothing about the Murano that I dont like - its comfortable, well-appointed and well-designed, and an absolute delight to drive. The CVT is addictive - once you get used to it, youll never want to go back. I actually dont mind my hour commute each day to and from work, now. Always a Nissan fan, but now Im reminded why!

  • My "DREAM" SUV... - 2006 Nissan Murano

This new automatic transmission is the best on a long trip...Went from S.F to Las Vegas...breezed through without getting that "tired of driving" feeling. Actually got there before we knew it...doesnt tire you out...fun to drive and a beauty to behold...I love this SUV...Ive got that new charchol color with the cabernet leather interior...WOW, do I get the looks!!! Everyone wants to look at the inside too!! It makes me happy to get into it after a hard day at work, the color is so bright and cheerful!!!.....The mileage could be better...19 mpg but it is worth it!!! A positive 10!!!

  • Love This Car/Suv - 2006 Nissan Murano
    By -

We have had our Murano for only one week. I have only driven it about 300 miles. The little I have driven it I relly love it. I can definitely tell the Nissan quallity. Vehicle rides very smooth and is very quiet. Automatic AWD is great. The CVT transmission really gives the vehicle a smooth and quiet ride. Cant feel the trans shift at all. So far my all around gas mileage is about 20 mpg. Also feel very safe driving this vehicle.

  • ENGINE BLOWN AT 88,000 MILES! - 2006 Nissan Murano
    By -

Found out yesterday that the vehicle love of my life has dying engine and blown front and rear exhaust manifolds.....estimate for repairs....$13,000! Engine had less than 1/2 quart of oil after 3300 miles since last oil change. Sick to my stomach. Ive loved everything about this SUV and have taken impeccable care of it - mechanically, interior, exterior. Just last week had 2 different friends ask me if I got a new car!

  • Nice car, ergonomic and electronic issue - 2006 Nissan Murano
    By -

Cant update my other review. Need to add more here. First, I meant ergonOMic issues in the other review. Second: Beware the CD player. It crapped out and luckily I have a warranty or it would cost over $600 to get it replaced. These are apparently a notorious weak point in many Nissans. In fact, it appears to be so widespread that I think they owe customers a free replacement, but good luck with that.

  • I cant say enough about my Murano... - 2006 Nissan Murano

Ive had my Murano for about 3 weeks now and I love it. Its a great balance of all the things youd expect in a vehicle. I have a great respect for this vehicle and Nissan altogether. It was really put to the test during this snow storm that we had. I didnt have to dig nothing. I just put it in drive and went. Thats what I call a kicking SUV. Id recommend anyone who wants a SUV to check out the Murano....You will not be disappointed.

  • poor gas milage - 2006 Nissan Murano
    By -

The Murano is a nice car but the gas mileage stinks. although it says 20 mpg in the city and 25 on highway on the posted window tag, the real truth is 15 mpg city driving. The dealer told me to switch to high test gas and I did. now I get 15.7 mpg. I dont rough ride the car and dont pull out fast from stops. I had a nissan Max before and was satisfied with 20 mpg. so this is a big drop, especially when gas was 4.00 per gal. The interior came only in black or Tan. Not much of a choice. It does have a lot of room and has a good ride, city and highway. I have a 2007....

Make sure you have the car checked out before making a commitment in buying the vehicle. These cars are traded in from someone else, then is not fully checked out by the person selling the vehicle. Too high priced for one thing, and also the mileage on this 2006 Nissan murano is too high for the cost of buying the car. It is a nice looking car inside and out but had a brake problem squelching when stopping which the seller was willing to fix if buying the Murano. Not good gas mileage according to the rating on the web. Only 20 in city and 25 highway if that. The vehicle is too heavy and is the reason for the low mileage. It was fully loaded and that was the reason for the price of 8,995.00 which I thought was too high in price. Still checking other vehicles out to make sure I want this car or not. What is your opinion on what I quoted.?

  • A great car for the BUCK! - 2006 Nissan Murano
    By -

What can I say, before buying the Murano, Ive test driven the RX 350, FX35 and the Pilot. Ive got about 11k miles on it already, and so far, so good! I get about 19-21 mpg mostly city driving, and it handles great. The 3.5 award winning engine is great and easy maint.

This is a very nice riding car. Handles well on poor driving surfaces. Gas mileage is not what I would like, but Ive been driving a 4cyl Altima for the last 12 years. One poor feature is passenger side mirror visibility. Windows are tinted & headrest are very large. I had to install fisheye mirrors to improve field of vision. Other than that the Murano is a great buy.
