Overview & Reviews
After last year's debut to critical acclaim, Nissan's midsize sedan receives minor changes for 2003. Two new exterior colors, Sonoma Sunset and Crystal Blue add pizzazz to the wardrobe. There's a new charcoal seat fabric, padded cloth front center armrest cover (genuine leather on leather-equipped vehicles) and bright titanium interior accent colors for all models to spruce up the interior. The 2.5 SL receives a standard automatic transmission, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors and simulated wood trim. For the 3.5 SE, there is a Sport Package, which includes a sunroof and spoiler, and a Sport Package Plus, which includes sunroof, spoiler, Bose audio system and HID headlights. The 3.5 SE Leather Package now includes a Bose audio system, sunroof and heated seats, while the Leather Sport Package adds a spoiler and xenon headlights. Finally, a new 3.5 SE Premium Leather Package sports all of the above plus throws in fake wood to boot. How can you go wrong?
- Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, high level of features, explosive V6 engine, distinct styling.
- Shabby interior materials, overboosted steering, no stability control.

Unbelievable - 2003 Nissan Altima
By johnny6 - March 11 - 10:00 amThis car is spectacular, so far. Although, I have only had this car for one day, I would venture to say that I am in for a fun few years of driving. The torque steer is a bit to get used to, but seriously we are talking about a car that has 245 horse power and 246 foot pounds of torque. This car is an fing monster. Every nissan I have ever owned or driven has been high quality and this car is no exception. Highly recommended !

Wonderful First Car - 2003 Nissan Altima
By Anon - March 6 - 9:03 amThis car is wonderful, it has lots of power, great pick up, nice exterior design, many standard features and more. If I had the choice between the Altima, Camry, or Accord I would buy the Altima with no hesitation. The interior could definitely use a change, especially some of the material that is used. But at this price, who could complain? Brakes wear out quicker then some other cars, but that is just wear and tear. Engine is great, first thing in the morning it does sound louder then usual, other than that I have not had any problems with this car!

The best car I have ever owned - 2003 Nissan Altima
By Louis Villarrubia - February 11 - 4:16 amThe power of the 4 cyl engine is like other 6 cyl. The gas mileage, 29 mpg highway and 23 mpg city with the a/c on, is unbelievable. Its comfortable. The sound system sounds great and the only time its been in the shop was to have a fan belt replaced.

ZOOM ZOOM eat your heart out Mazda 6 - 2003 Nissan Altima
By Altima Man - February 7 - 2:00 amQuick acceleration great looks bumpn sound system. The car that all the 40 year old men with 16 year old brains wants to drive. Watch your speed, car doesnt like to go 50 km/h, it likes to go 80 km/h. Comfortable to drive for long distances. Great high beams could use white bulbs for night driving. Great family sports sedan.

Perfect Car! - 2003 Nissan Altima
By OURTOYS - February 2 - 10:00 amThis is the first car that I have owned that I absolutley love!! My previous car was a Honda Civic and the Altima is a far superior car than the Civic. I commute in my car about 1 hour everyday. The seats are very comfortable and the controls on the steering wheel are a wonderful feature. It has a lot of headroom, my husband is 65" and he has more than enough room to sit comfortably in the car. I recommend the Altima to everyone I know.

disappointment - 2003 Nissan Altima
By i hate nissan now - January 27 - 10:00 amthis car got really good reviews, went out and bought it... big mistake. always got crappy mileage about 12mpg mixed driving. im not kidding, i even tried driving like i was afraid of the gas pedal, not much help. finally at 7k service engine soon light comes on. what the heck. forget this car, get an accord or a camry. i noticed something peculiar at the service center. it has both a nissan and toyota service department. nissans were rolling in by the dozens, didnt see a single car pull up to the toyota service

Nice car overall - 2003 Nissan Altima
By VBM - January 26 - 4:30 amThe car is reliable and fun to drive. The only problem in 4 years was right shock/strut - had to change. Fuel economy depends on style of driving and varied between 24.5 and 27 mpg for mixed cycle with less than 20% highway mileage. Steering is very responsive and accurate, acceleration is good, although not as fast as for 3.5L engine (give and take on fuel economy though). Overall experience was very good.
