Overview & Reviews
After last year's debut to critical acclaim, Nissan's midsize sedan receives minor changes for 2003. Two new exterior colors, Sonoma Sunset and Crystal Blue add pizzazz to the wardrobe. There's a new charcoal seat fabric, padded cloth front center armrest cover (genuine leather on leather-equipped vehicles) and bright titanium interior accent colors for all models to spruce up the interior. The 2.5 SL receives a standard automatic transmission, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors and simulated wood trim. For the 3.5 SE, there is a Sport Package, which includes a sunroof and spoiler, and a Sport Package Plus, which includes sunroof, spoiler, Bose audio system and HID headlights. The 3.5 SE Leather Package now includes a Bose audio system, sunroof and heated seats, while the Leather Sport Package adds a spoiler and xenon headlights. Finally, a new 3.5 SE Premium Leather Package sports all of the above plus throws in fake wood to boot. How can you go wrong?
- Sports car power in a midsize sedan body, high level of features, explosive V6 engine, distinct styling.
- Shabby interior materials, overboosted steering, no stability control.

Almost there - 2003 Nissan Altima
By cgp - April 29 - 10:00 amI have been very pleased with this car. Seats are very comfotable, tons, of space, plenty of power. The biggest negative is a slow shifting automatic transmission that I havent adjusted to yet. The interior plastic dash and door panels are very cheap materials (but you can see that when you chose the car). The cup holders are worthless. Stereo is great and exterior styling is great.

Didnt want it but glad I got it. - 2003 Nissan Altima
By Brandon Jones - April 12 - 8:03 pmIve owned my car for 3 years and drive heavily, around 24,000 mi/yr. I havent had any problems with it other than changing a blown bulb. I have about 85000 mi on my vehicle now. This model is roomy, drives well, and is pretty good on gas considering its a family sedan. The interior controls are plain to me. If I didnt drive such long distances to work I would probably keep it. $3 a gallon even with average gas mi. can sting. Overall a solid purchase!

Every Manufacturer Has Their Bad Day - 2003 Nissan Altima
By quasibozo - March 31 - 7:08 amMy 2003 Altima, had a number of issues. Excessive oil use, random start up problems top of the list. The crankshaft position sensor a major player but not the sole solution. Dollar for dollar, amount of money I spent on it Id probably have spent on an American make that wouldnt have given me the same mileage. That 2003 was the fifth Nissan I purchased new. My philosophy, 200,000 miles or ten years, which ever comes first. I never made ten years before a new one. I took best care of this Altima than all the other Nissans I owned and it gave me the worst repair record. I dont understand why the whole fleet wasnt recalled for repair. Buying my sixth new Nissan since 1973, a "2011 Rogue".

Nissan Has A Winner - 2003 Nissan Altima
By Mister B - March 28 - 2:00 amA fast, powerful and fun car to drive. Steering at times gets dicey. Large turning radius makes for awkward turning maneuvers. Owned several ZXs and this car is just as strong...lots of interior room and cargo space

Blue rocket - 2003 Nissan Altima
By Cobalt Blue - March 28 - 2:00 amYou wont believe the acceleration! Great design, great power, lots of internal space. Have driven Hondas, Acuras, Toyotas and Japan-domestic only Nissans before and this is by far the best pure performance car of the bunch. This is the car for you if youre looking for a budget-conscious, high performance sports sedan.

Altima SE 2002 - 2003 Nissan Altima
By Jesus Velazquez - March 17 - 10:00 amSunroof whistles when going over 80mph, interior is made of cheap plastic, great power, rides very comfortable, very good leg room with forward seats in furthest rear position, cabin could be a little quieter because road noise can heard, steering could be tighter. Overall I give it an 8.8

NEVER buy a NISSAN!! - 2003 Nissan Altima
By Jo - March 14 - 7:31 amWorst, most expensive car to maintain I have ever owned. If the gas pedal sticks and then doesnt randomly, Im afraid to drive this car. We have replaced so many parts I could not possibly list them all here. The dealer is NO help, they diagnose, take your cash and youre back in 2 weeks. This model should have been recalled!!! Car has been maintained since we got it with 32000. Looks nice, under the hood it is a real nightmare. Only foreign car we own, will NEVER get another Nissan. They should care about their customers before their cars kill us!!
