Overview & Reviews
Mercedes expands its M-Class with the addition of the more powerful and luxurious ML430 and gives the 320 more standard equipment.
- Capable sport-utes with Mercedes-Benz levels of refinement, powerful engines.
- ML320 looks like the Mercury Villager minivan from the rear. These sport-utes are better on-road than off.

Love the ML320 - 1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By Drewart - July 24 - 10:00 amThis car is excellent overall. It drives and performs like a true Benz (for those of us that know.)I have had many and this one is fun, fast, sporty, yet user friendly for those trips to the antique shows or for the mulch bags. Dynamic control and comfort for an SUV. I would buy this car again.

Too Few Comforts, Too Many Repairs - 1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By Steve Procter - April 12 - 2:00 amI compair this car to my 1994 Mercury Sable which cost 1/2 as much. The Mercury does it better in each of these areas: Trip computer poor, no auto heat/air control, intermittenent wiper limited, cup holders in wrong place, visors dont cover two windows at once, switches in wrong places, arm rests too low, way to many trips to the dealer, parts expensive, many rattles.

Off Road for Many Miles - 1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By Kokopelli Jim - March 31 - 2:33 pmWe have owned this car for about 60,000 miles, and had an extended warranty through last year. This car has been driven through city and country, with many miles off-road locating petroglyph and Indian ruin sites throughout the Southwestern United States. This is our third Mercedes and we have driven them an aggregate of over 250K miles, so I am somewhat biased toward the three pointed star. All of the suggested service was performed and the additional repairs required have totaled less than $1,000 which included the new platinum plugs at 100K miles. I would buy another one without a second thought.

Fun - but rough ride not for families - 1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By undotcom - December 16 - 10:00 amPerfect truck for the young and single to play around in...I cant imagine a more prestigous, inexpensive SUV. BUT... I bought the truck 3 years ago. It was highly rated in almost every safety survey and I could not imagine a better way to protect my wife and newborn son the road. The problem, it rides like a truck...Stiff suspension shakes the back seat passengers on the mildest of roads. Several of my friends have become car sick (first time) while in the back seat! Young parents should avoid this vehicle. Do not take newborns or young infants in this truck due to the amount of vibration their heads would endure.

Id buy another - 1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By don831 - November 24 - 11:10 pmI love this truck. I have put 100,000 miles on over the last 5 years with minimal maintenance. Typically get 21-23 mpg hwy/ 15-16 in town. Not bad for a 6,000lb truck. Down side is brakes! Mercedes recommends changing pads and rotors, very pricey and they wear very fast. I would buy another in a heartbeat, but this one may not wear out.

Great used car value - 1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By gv3 - October 12 - 10:00 amGot my 99 ML320 with a little more than 50,000 miles on the odometer, spending $22k, or about half the cost of a new model. A service record obtained from the local MB dealer showed that most of the annoying glitches that plagued early MLs had been taken care of (window switches, etc.). Ive had no issues with the vehicle, and am much happier with it than my Jeep Grand Cherokee. A lot of car for the $!

My wife loves the ML320 - 1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By TerryBaltimore - September 17 - 10:00 amThis has been a wonderful car for the family. Teenagers and adults like the full back seats. The car has a solid comfortable feel, but does not drive like a truck. Our only problems have been with a gas gauge that doesnt register all the way to full and recently a dashboard light that burnt out for the clock. We also priced that cross country Vovlo at the time but thought this was a better buy.

Excellent Vehicle! - 1999 Mercedes-Benz M-Class
By pacquio78 - September 6 - 8:58 pmHey Guys! Its Gavin Back With The Updates On My 99 ML430, We Got Her Up To 306,000 Miles! Still Running Strong, Except For A Faulty Fan Clutch, But We Decided No To Put Anymore Money Into It Since Were Starting To Look At The New 550s. But The ML430 Was Definitely The Best Car Ive Ever Purchased, And It Will Stay On That Position On My List! Im Gonna Miss Her When Shes Gone, But Shes One Strong Girl!
