Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Looks good, poor reliability - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Nothing but problems with the vehicle. SRS light on and fixed seven times, three leaks, the list goes on. And the most disappointing fact was the poor customer service I received. I was treated like an outcast and MB did not care about resolving the problems.

  • Update to my earlier review - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Now have 6600 miles on the Benz. I still absolutely love to drive it & my overall rating doesnt change. Have found a couple of minor things that could be improved upon. The auto- sensing wipers are not very good. They sometimes come on when there is not any moisture at all. You cannot adjust them other than slow, med, fast and auto. My Toyota had a variable speed ajustment like a dimmer switch that was quite useful. The second item is the nav which doesnt allow anything to be entered while the car is in motion. While I understand this is likely for safety reasons it is aggravating since it prohibits the passenger from making any course adjustments while riding.

  • Simply the best - 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

A car I have fallin in love with. When driving it seems the car is an extension of my body. Easy to drive and all controls make sense. The best car Ive ever owned.

  • Good all around Wagon - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I purchased this wagon with 82k on it and now it has around 117k. It has had a few repairs, but nothing truly outrageous. It drives very well, especially at high speeds on the highway. This wagon can take on 85 mph all day. I have averaged about 21 mpg, with about half highway and half city. The 4Matic AWD is truly a dream. One nice touch is the third seat. Its not habitable by adults, but my children think its a novelty to sit in a rear- facing seat. One maintenance item to watch out for: the rear window regulators WILL break, and they are about $400 to replace from the dealer. Try to find a European auto mechanic rather than always bringing it to the dealer.

  • The best car Ive ever owned! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Ive had this car for just a few weeks now, and every time I drive it it gets better. I had a CLK 430 before this, and the ride is softer, the acceleration and handling better, and the build quality superior to that one. I looked at the Lexus GS430, the BMW 5-series and this and the MB wins hands down. The stereo is awesome and the seats are comfortable yet sporty. Nothing to complain about - just a blast to drive!!!

Excellnt vehicle for a single or a family of 4. State-of-the-art safety features, make this a vehicle to consider if you are thinking about family safety. I purchased the E320 but wish I had purchased the E500 since it would be much faster and the one I have is so much fun to drive....more power would make it even more fun! Everyone who has ssen it or been insode has loved the car. Several friends like it better than the rather large S class. The upgraded harden/karden sound system is worth the extra costs as it is incredible! The Nav system is great if you need it (I do.) Satalite radio is also available. Overall, I am proud to drive the vehicle and other than the sexy SL I think it

  • My 6th and the best so far - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

The new E350 represents my sixth Mercedes and absolutely the best so far. Im a large man and comfort is a major consideration. Ive driven in other high line cares and none compare with the head and leg room provided by the Mercedes. In addition the ride in the new car is so quiet that you can barely hear the engine. However once you step on the accelerator be prepared as the power it has is simply incredible. One of the other real benefits is as a big man at 64when I drive the car the person in the back seat isnt jammed in and I dont have to sacrifice by having to move the driver seat up.The cd player puts out a fabulous sound. The trunk space is emense.
