Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Amazing Car! - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This car is wonderful. Ive driven the M5 and while it is probably more similar than different, I really prefer the E55. It feels much lighter in the handling department and the power, while probably close to the same feels much stronger with the E55.

  • Should have bought the BMW - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Profoundly dissappointed.Worst auotmotive purchase of my life.Wind noise so loud that normal conversation is not possible. No dealership support (in fact they made the car worse) no manufacturer support. 38 days in shop in 120 days of ownership, still not fixed. Unbelievable list of problems. Its not a wonder Lexus is eating MBZ alive!

  • Nice Car but only buy CPO buying used. - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I have driven BMWs for the last ten years and wanted a change so I went MB. I love the looks of the E350 and how comfortable it is on trips. I bought the car from an independent dealer with 48K on it. The car had been maintained by Mercedes since the day it was bought. Being the second owner and having a clean car fax, I figured I was ok. Up until last week the car was super. The car just turned 52K miles and the transmission had a major malfunction due to the electronics. I had to pay right at $2000 to have the Valve body of the transmission replaced. I am very disappointed that this happened exactly 2000 miles after the factory warranty expired. Not what you would expect on a MB this new.

  • Not Quite Great - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Late August pick-up (2k miles so far) - luxury, obsidian black, almond/mocha leather, P1, wood steering wheel. Beautifully built, highly refined. Standout interior w/ excellent stereo, very comfortable seats, good noise insulation. Very smooth at highway speeds, yet holds well on sharp on/off ramps. However, MB misses in two areas. 1st, engine is a bit underpowered for cars size. 2nd, mediocre 7-speed trans. Specifically, shifting keeps RPMs too low when accelerating unless peddle to the floor (so much for 2 overdrives), sport mode does nothing, does not adapt to driving style (contrary to advertising). A very good car, but needs some work. A shame BMW no longer makes the 5 wagon.

  • After 16 Months - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Have been enjoying my beast for 16 months and it is just as much fun to drive as when it was new. Just spent about $10K to get more power from this exotic 4 door. With basic ECU/Pulley and Headers I have close to 600HP and 650 Torque. This car runs 1/4 mile times in the 11s. What a great car to own and mod when you get bored with the stock power.

  • Dont Be Fooled By Imitations - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Ive owned the E-class since the 1993 400E. Our current E430 is evident of M- Bs efforts in giving design priority over engineering. With that said, the E430 is a very sound car. It drives, feels, and looks luxurious. Its the real thing, not a Toyota, Honda, or Nissan rebadged. Dont be fooled by the gingerbread of these imitators!

  • Factual and Truthful - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Aside from a defective alternator @ 1,000 miles and a loose headrest, the E500 4Matic hasnt disappointed. It has handled superbly through 30"+ of NE snow thus far. Solid car, solid ride, good price/value correlation.

  • You need to get one - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I purchased this car with 25,000 miles on it, former lease. Maybe I am easy to please, but this is one GREAT car. I paid just over HALF price of a $59,000 sticker, and get all of the benes. Parktronic, which I NEVER would have chosed, Harmon audio, sunroof, etc. Love the auto door locks at 9 MPH, in dash NAV, rain sensitive wipers and Bi Xenons. Trunk is spacious for golf clubs and 7 spoke wheels are easy to clean. Tires are low ENOUGH (245) profile, but not low enough to worry about potholes. The car drives heavy. It is not nimble. I would highly recommend for HWY, but not nec for City driving. My first MB, and my first used car ever in 25 years. I may nvr buy new again. Certified. Do it.
