Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Platinum Blue Beauty - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Chaslap - October 17 - 4:50 pmI attended an investment seminar held on the dealerships showroom floor with no intention of changing cars. It was love at first sight. Upon returning 2 days later, it was being delivered as I drove up. Had one trucked in for me. I have gotten many compliments on its appearance, and the ownership experience thus far has been positive. It has power far in excess of ordinary driving demands, but that reserve is there in case of an emergency. The service department has been very helpful when called upon. Had to replace a strut early on, and the Pirellis (all 4) feathered around the tread edges creating road noise. Rotated right-left hoping that reversing the rotation will smooth out the feathering

Scary Fast and Barely Sips Fuel - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By JerryS - October 17 - 6:03 amCars dont get much faster and more fuel efficient than this BlueTec diesel car. There are almost 400 foot pounds of torque and almost 40 miles per gallon. Why buy a Lexus or Toyota or BMW when you will be slower, and consuming more fuel. Plus, the other cars value will drop like a rock in a few years. I am pleased, very pleased with the MB E320 BlueTec. This is epitome of engineering and pizzazz!

Not worth the $$$$ - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By DLB19 - October 11 - 10:00 amGenerally, it is an "OK" vehicle. Having said that, "OK" is not good enough for a MB vehicle. Based on the brand and the price, I am very disappointed in both my MBs. Our E-Class had to have a part in the heater replaced, which was several hundred dollars. That repair was shortly followed by the front suspension wearing out, which cost a couple thousand dollars. All these repairs were needed prior to 80,000 miles. I wouldnt expect these type of issues from "any" high end luxury vehicle, much less a Mercedes. The seats are extremely firm, liken to sitting on a cinder block. We also own a ML, which has spent most of its life in the garage, costing us thousands of dollars.

Great car but not cheap to own - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By RDV - October 11 - 10:00 amBought her new in Oct 02. Still drives great, interior holding up well. Handling is a little mushy for my taste. Trans occasionally hunts for right gear but otherwise smooth. BEWARE-repairs are pricey. Just fixing a rattling heat shield was $250. I use an independent, Benz-only shop and its still expensive to maintain. Had to replace heater valve last winter - $500. All in all, love the E class (evidenced by my decision to buy a new 2011 E350) but she definitely aint cheap to own and operate. Id be very careful if buying a used one.

My 2nd Benz - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Gerald Netkin - October 7 - 4:00 amI have owned a number of European luxuary sedans including Audi S8 and Jaguar XJR. I drove the BMW 550 before purchasing. My 2007 E550 is the most pleasurable yet. I am extreemly satisfied with driving fun, comfort, and performance. This car will wax all but a few and I like to play! I would recommend this car to anyone wanting a true luxury sedan with wrapped in a very high performance machine.

MB at its best - 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By MB Driver - October 7 - 2:00 amLong time dream of driving a MB finally came true. Very sophisticated drive, smooth, but not overly soft suspension. 430 engine is excellent. Feels tank- sturdy despite being relatively light- weight. Bought and plan to drive it for 10 or so years, will serve me just fine and will look just as respectable as today - they hold value and prestige very well.

The REAL ultimate driving machine - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By BoughtABenz - October 7 - 2:00 amEven though I have only owned my MB E500 for 2 weeks, I can tell you that it is an amazing automobile. I have been a faithful BMW buyer for the last 15 years, and after owning my first "benz" Ill never buy anything else. What a well built automobile this is. And if you need trunk space, look no further, huge amount of trunk space, unbelievable. Just an all around extremely well built automobile, and a very safe vehicle to boot. You couldnt ask for anything more.
