Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Not as impressed - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By greg - March 26 - 5:00 pmI went from an Audi S4 to my E55 and have to say I am really disappointed with the MB. It is a great car, fast as can be but doesnt compare with the Audi. The handling and build quality of the MB arent up to the Audi standards which was a let down.

Great Ride! - 1996 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By bhaggie - March 26 - 2:00 amIve had this car for 8 years and am the first owner. All the major components have been ultra reliable. However, the light bulb socketing technology is the worst in the world. Ive had 20+ light bulbs (headllamps, foglamps, dash lights, brake lights, running lights, etc) fail to light because of contact problems. A little persussion maintenance usually, but not always, fixed the problem.

Our New Wagon - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By mbz guy - March 22 - 10:00 amThe Car is great....with gas prices soaring near $3.00 per gallon, we traded in our Lincoln Navigator for a more fuel efficient family car. The kids love sitting in rear facing back seat and the car is fun to drive and beautiful to look at. With added 17 inch factory wheels, tinted windows and in brilliant silver, it is a head turner...especially at the gas station

Won me back from BMW - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By donl - March 20 - 10:00 amThis car draws many looks from people in a variety of age groups. The engine is silky smooth; the interior is like a glove; the driver seat is very comfortable and interior layout very intuitive. My only complaint is that the cruise control is not part of the steering wheel.

Frustrated long time MB owner! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Frank Wendt - March 19 - 7:53 amThree major problems resulting in overnite service: Emergency brake release came completely out of dashboard; could not move vehicle. Harness for seatbags defective and had to be replaced. Starter key went "dead" after 17,000 mi. Could not reset clock for daylight time, nor could three dealer service personnel! Confusing option "sets" on steering wheel. etc etc

Best car I owned so far! - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By MF - March 16 - 3:53 pmIn 2004 I traded a Lexus RX for a 2005 E320. That E320 was the best car I had so far from a driving experience perspective, but its gadgets were much inferior compared with Lexus. Last month, I traded my E320 for a new E550 (Package 2 plus Parktronic, Panorama roof & Dynamic Seats). What a car!!! I was initially skeptical with the reviews about the improved E550 handling and comfort. But that is true: The V8 is very smooth and responsive. Better handling. Good mileage (for a V8). My wife told me the car feels so quiet it seems it is 40mph at 70mph (great 7 speed auto transmission).

What quality?? - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By - March 13 - 2:00 amPurchased vehicle as a Starmark pre- owned vehicle with 28k on the odometer in April of 2002. Since then Mercedes has spent approx $10k on repairing the vehicle. Everything from new transmission to power window motors steering issues and a very faulty air conditioner plus plus plus. This is my second and definitely my last Mercedes. Previous vehicle was a Q45 that ran 245K miles without a hiccup. Mercedes quality trails the Japanese cars by a long mile!
