Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Good not Great - 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

We currently have a 2009 Mercedes Wagon with 15k miles on it. Also for context we have a Toyota mini-van and a Prius. This current wagon only seems special when you are on the highway. There it is in its element. Extremely smooth, quiet yet with the classic German feel. Other than price it isnt much different from the Toyotas. Overall build quality actually seems to be less than the Toyotas I am sad to say. We have had a number of minor problems with the electrical and mechanical systems. The CD player still doesnt work. The right windshield wiper stopped working etc. In general it seems as the though the car is several years behind the competitors in features.

Ive had three BMW 5 series, an "07 E-class, Jag XJ, etc. and must say this 2010 is the best so far. Beautiful design/classy and super comfortable drive/quality is excellent. This one is a keeper.

This car handles great, acceleration is pretty decent, still in break in period. Interior design is beautiful. the longer you stay in this vehicle, the more detail and appreciation you have for this car.

  • Love the Car! - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I bought the Benz a couple of weeks ago and love it. I have been a loyal BMW fan for the last 10 years, but wanted a change. The E550 is the perfect car. Full of power, and leaps ahead at the slightest press on the accelerator. Nice tight German car steering. The car is quiet and purrs along with a very smooth ride, which is quite different then the bone rattling ride that I had with my BMW 530 with run flat tires. The car itself is gorgeous with clean, classic lines, and a beautiful interior. As expected the gas mileage is not great, but you dont buy a V-8 engine expecting to get excellent mileage. Love the car so much that it is a disappointment to get to work in the morning.

  • Love it - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This is my fourth Mercedes Benz car and by far the one I like most. I bought it for my wife as she wanted to downsize out of a Land Rover which was the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned (bought out of a lease 15 months ahead). The Mercedes has plenty of room for my three children and the best safety rating for a family sedan. We live in he north east so we opted for the 4- Matic AWD system. The overall look and feel of the car are fantastic. Plenty of power and a terrific ride quality and handling make it a pleasure to drive. The gas mileage is actually quite good for a large car with 270HP but and it is an enormous upgrade over the 9 MPG city we got in the truck.

  • 1999 E320 Wagon - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This wagon got better as the miles were put on. (41,000) Very smooth and noiseless, has more power than needed, and a dream to drive. Cupholders could have been more convenient. Sound system is superb. My wife is not crazy about rear facing seats in 3rd row. I will drive it until it drops.

  • A real Upgrade...xlnt - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I have had a new e-class Benz every year since 2006. 2007 E350 sport flint grey...fast/economical. 2008 E350 AMG sport indium grey...pkg1, pano-roof, chrome AMGs a real looker quick, better handling w/again 27mpg@85mph. 2010 E550 sport, pkg 2, pano-roof, parktronic, dynamic seat w/message...xlnt and those 550 only air cooled seats and don,t forget that adjustable air-ride. This car is far and away a better car overall. On a recent trip up the calif cst this V8 got 25.2 mpg@80-82mph. This V8 has strong power with a small penalty in mileage. I did also test drive 10 E350 nice but the airmatic ride/handling and V8 thrust won me over. E350s look the same but the drive completely different.

  • E Series 4matic - logical choice in snow - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Looking for a AWD, E320-4matic is the only AWD in a sedan that glides through snow like hot knife in butter. Its quiet, responsive, and luxurious. I wish I had heated seats, but for the money, I can add seat heaters for a couple of hundred dollars. The Nav is a bit awkward, but does work as expected.
