Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Faulty Electrical - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The car has been in the service department to replace control unit for radio. Problem continued and another electrical part was the problem. Cost to repair is excessive. Also the remote door locks failed and a sensor for hood latch failed. Fun car to drive when it it not in repair shop.

  • 2003 - Sport Pkg going strong - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Great car & a joy to drive short or long distance. Could use more HP, but then fuel milage would also suffer. Better milage, lower HP. I think 8s is a good number for this cars power. Perhaps quality has suffered a bit since the merge, but overall well engineered.

  • A beautifully balanced machine - 2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Im just the opposite of the mid-life crisis guy. Traded my 2008 red Corvette for what has to be the best lux/sports auto available. This car is so so smooth & sleek with a superb build quality both inside and out. Strangers are complementing my new ride at every stop or so it seems. This is our third Benz (wife on her second one, my first) and by far the best vehicle. I tested Jags XF, BMWs 535 (powerful), and the Lexus offerings. I fell in love with the E350. Sienna Black with Black/Beige leather and designo Burl Walnut trim.

This is a wonderful car. A mix between luxury and sport preformance. I would recommend this car to anyone.

  • strange noise - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I just purchased the E-coupe last week. Great car, however, there is a annoying noise at about 40 mph, and it gets louder the faster you go. Dealership has been great, even switched the tires out. Did not help. Drove another coupe and had the same noise but not as loud?? Not a happy camper right now.

  • Spectacular - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

I absolutely love this car. Torque is the key. It so effortlessly accelerates at any speed. I find the cars style, size and comfort to be nearly perfect. My only complaint after 1300 miles, goes to the complexity of the controls for the audio, A/C, gauges, etc. If you loan the car to a friend, there is little chance they could figure out what button would open the garage door, or how to lower the head rests in the rear seat. But let us not dwell on that complexity problem. This car is an extrodinary blend of comfort, speed, handling, and styling. I believe this car is nearly perfect.

  • MB x3 - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Compared MBE320 with BMW 530 03- heavily discounted(04 model not arrived) and the 04 Audi A6. - MB had quiet, solid, fine-manuevering agility. We liked that this was the 2nd year of this particular car remodeling.Felt electronic issues in the redesigned 03 model would be worked out by 04.Liked MB loaner car option. Liked having 2 MB large dealerships to negotiate price with. -BMW 530had a smaller interior, driving more like a sports car.Thought redesigned 04 might have glitches like the 03 MB did.Local dealership had poor service reviews. Audi was nice! Liked the all-wheel drive feature at $10,000 less than the MB & BMW. Jeep loaner?

  • Perfectly balanced luxury vehicle - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

After over a year of researching, test driving and contemplating, finally chose a CPO MB to replace my older 98 MB E320. Compared Lexus ES350, GS350, A6, Acura TL, RL, Infiniti M35, G35 None of those vehicles came close to matching the REFINEMENT of even my old E320! Love the balance of luxury and sport, plus beautiful lines. Sound system is fantastic, Command is intuitive. 4-wheel has come in handy already.

  • Very solid vehicle - 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

I bought this car with 117,000 mi and it now has 150,000 mi. This is my first MB after Volvos, Saabs, Fords. These cars are engineered very well but that means that everything that can go wrong or wear out has a sensor attached to it, and it can be frustrating troubleshooting problems. Im a DIYer and if you are looking for a used trouble free car do not buy a MB. This is a very solid car and excellent in the snow and gas mileage is very good. It also rides beautifully. Do not buy an E class after 1995, they went downhill after that year. If you do buy used try to get an independent mechanic because the stealerships are a real hassle. They think if you drive a MB you are rich.

  • A Great, but Expensive Ride - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

A tight, well balanced ride. Like most Mercedes, I had electrical problems and needed to have batteries replaced 4 times in the first 2 months I owned it. On the road it has good pickup with responsive and crisp steering. All inclusive with the fairly loaded configuration I specificed it set me back $76,000 and although Im happy with the car, I feel I should have walked out of the showroom with at least another $10K in my pocket. Overall, the powerful engine combined with excellent handling makes for an exhibiliating and road worthy experience.
