Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

MERCEDES E 400 SPORT SEDAN: PURE PERFECTION!!! - 2015 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By abacomike - September 9 - 11:24 pmI just bought my 9th E Class Sedan on December 12th, 2014 - a 2015 E 400 Sedan. Like all E Class Sedans Ive owned and driven, its a pleasure to drive, however the new Twin-Turbo V-6 Engine is a true performer (329 hp 354 lb ft torque). After driving the new E 400 for 5 weeks now, Im getting 31.8 mpg highway and 20 mpg city with a combined average of 24.2 mpg. Power, performance and superb handling are not sacrificed at all with the new high mpg power plant. This is the best automobile I have ever driven! Standard Features are abundant and I ordered the car with every available option. The car handles so beautifully. I recommend ordering the 19" optional wheels - better handling!

Could be great - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By danicro - September 9 - 10:00 amSold 2001 BMW 525IA for 03 320E RWD. Very good ride, excellent gas milage 9 (averaged over 29 MPG on a recent 500 round trip at close to 70 MPG). Really! Only problem I have had and it is hard to understand is the computer system that controls the stereo system. My vehicle was at the dealership for more than 3 weeks waiting for a new "gateway". Not good! Problem appears to have been corrected but this cars electronics are sluggish. Love the styling and the ride. Stereo sound is fine and interior is very good.

Nice Car - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Buck - September 8 - 9:06 pmJust returned from a 2,000 trip, Im a bit disappointed with the fuel mileage. Even when using every trick to coax better mileage from the car, the best I saw on the highway was 34 mpg, it was usually less than that. The fit and finish of the vehicle are excellent. Im not a big fan of the HVAC controls, the dials adjust the temp in 2 degree increments, sometimes its hard to get just the right temp. Ive seen reviews that indicate its too easy to confuse the turn signal with the cruise control stalk, and even after 3 months with the car, I still occasionally mix them up. The car is an excellent long-range cruiser, very comfortable.

Too many problems - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Hotelier - September 4 - 10:00 amI have experience all the problems everyone else has plus a hundred more. First was the A/C which fail twice, then I had a problem with the steering, they never where able to align it right and the car steers to the right more than it should (for safety). Then I had a problem with the switch that raises the vehicle, it always gets stuck, then my headrest stopped working, then my cd changer failed it does not work at all (I see this one is a classic),then my speakers are having a short circuit, then when I steer the wheel is making a horrible noise like a tire is loose, I also have the rattling on the engine, etc, etc, etc, etc

E 320 4 matic Wagon - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By LKG - September 4 - 10:00 amThis is my wifes vehicle, she loves the car. This was a replacement for a Suburban. She loves the size and the handling etc. I perosnally prefer the BMW for ride and sport car handling. This thing can haul a ton of cargo and still handles pretty well. Would be great to see this unit made with the extras of the E 500. I would persoanlly consider the Pacifica when looking at this unit.

We shall see - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Sportsman1 - September 2 - 10:06 amHave owned E550 for 2 weeks. In shop for last three days. Voice command inoperable ,drivers side airbag inoperable, rattle in dash. Dealer followed MB bulletin, did not correct rattle. Quality still a question after all the QA/QC conferences held by MB. Leased vehicle based on a complete makeover per MB and the deletion of the Bosh electric brakes which cost MB dearly in warranty costs. Wife likes style of car which is better than a 550i BMW. However the adjustable air suspension is not calibrated correctly. Neither the soft, normal, or hard setting provide a satisfying ride. BMW still a better ride and a true drivers car. Sold one of the last 2001 BMW 740i sports to do deal, I hope this was not a big mistake.

Overpriced Chrysler - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By JW - September 2 - 10:00 amRoad noise got to me, steering lifelless and too light.Good dart if you floor it & wait for 1 sec, otherwise, tiring in both S & C mode. Daft ergonomics. Steering column gear shifter and foot parking brakes are MB signatures that should be killed in the 80s. Signal stalk should be where the cruise control stalk is. And the turning knob for wipers is so Chrysler/Ford. Thirsty. Dash designs looks like a cross btw a Honda/Camaro - cheap. Cheap also applies to rear air vent plastic housing. BMW/Audi beater it is not. Maybe will give a 300M run for the money. Oh, sorry, wrong price bracket. Nav system display & voice command out of sync and that lifting intonation at end of sentence - AARG

Excellent to own - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Phil - September 1 - 3:03 amThis car has everything anyone could want: safety, reliability, styling, comfort, standard upgrades such as an audio system that uses fiber-optic wiring to the speakers (you hear every sound), and great gas mileage. What more could you want?

Perfect for the aspiring VP - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Alex - August 31 - 6:13 pmI bought this car with 222,000 miles on it from a family friend. In 7 days, the radiator blew, but for 3 years after, now with 244,000 miles, the car drives beautifully. Comfort, handling, horsepower, and after tinting the windows, style. I plan to drive this car until it breaks down completely, overall it is a true gentlemans ride.

E350 Key to The Cure special edition - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Geo Rod - August 25 - 11:25 pmSo far had the car for a month. Im very happy and satisfied with it so far... this special edition came with lots of extras! got it with 115K and it runs great. Well kept inside and out. Purchased the extended 24 month warranty just in case. The Karman Harmond stereo is amazing. I dont have to do much driving on a daily basis but find myself wishing I did just to enjoy more time behind the wheel. it has been a year now and I still feel the same about my car. It is amazing! I love it! no issues, runs great.
