Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

The Ultimate Driving Machine... - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Michael R. - February 13 - 10:00 amWhen compared to the outgoing BMW 530i, the MB is a clear winner, with better comfort, similar performance, nicer cabin, and a much more modern chassis and drivetrain. The optional Sport package on the E320 includes the Airmatic suspension which is phenomenal. A real engineering achievement, it provides unbelievable good ride, while keeping the car flat and tight in corners. The Sport interior is also beautiful. Judging by the pictures, BMW has taken a real step back with their design of the new 5 Series interior. It is less clean looking, has too many "bumps" and curves and the switchgear looks scattered.

A really advanced car - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Seattle Slew - February 9 - 9:00 amLooked at all the Japanese cars like Acura RL and Infiniti M35. The E350, at first, seemed much less featured. This turns out not to be true. the car may lack voice activated features but it has everything else. Love the cruise control which actually brakes the car when you slow the car down. Would highly recommend the car.

My First Mercedes - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By tlrust1 - February 7 - 10:00 amAnd most likely, my last. In the past eight months the car has been in the shop eight times for nearly 20 days. I broke my longstanding rule of never buying the first year of a new model and Im really paying for it now. Build quality is horrible. In addition, my dealers service center is the most disorganized and poorly run I have ever encountered. I miss my Lexus.

Falling Apart - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Chris - February 5 - 12:10 pmWe bought this vehicle about 2 years ago as certified used from dealership. We have been taking it in for repairs about 3-4 times a year. Head lamps have gone out a few times each. The radio quit working a few months ago-replacement costs $1,200. Warning lights go on about once a month for coolant level, brakes, lamps, etc. once every few months. The transmission is very jerky at low speeds. Interior trim pieces and outer roof strip are coming off. The engine/transmission noise while driving is loud and harsh. Interior truck lock assembly is falling apart.

Schallers E350 Review - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Hubert Schaller - February 4 - 12:00 amI bought this vehicle, having owned a 2003 BMW 530i which I loved. My wife loved the MB even more so I purchased it for her. Ive come to like the MB even more than the BMW primarily because it feels more refined. Even the passenger compartment, although not much larger than the BMW, feels significantly larger. I still think the BMW handles better but the MB is no slouch. I do wish MB had the same no cost (for 4 years) maintenance package the BMW came with. In closing, I would buy the vehicle again!

Beware of the 1st year - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By MB Guy - February 1 - 2:00 amThese cars look great and make a nice statement. But the quality is down from previous years. These cars used to drive like a tank but now they are more mainstream. This could be good for some folks but not for old MBZ people. My Lexus was superior in many ways when it came down to it. The service at Mercedes Benz is not as good as the service at Lexus.

E-500 Wagon tires - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By rassr - January 29 - 6:23 amThis is a superb touring vehicle with comfort, and all-around good performance. Original tires, Continental ContiTouring, were a problem. The rear tires had little wear left on them at 7000 miles, the fronts would have lasted a little longer. Upon complaining, MB service dept told me they were a high performance tire with a very soft compound. I think they were unsuitable for 98 per cent of the users who purchase this car. Advice if buying this vehicle? Look at the DOT rating stamped on the sidewall. Anything less than 400 ask for a different tire. I replaced them with Bridgestone Potenzas with a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty. Theres no difference in ride, comfort or handling.
