Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

My Benz! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By DIRTYAMG - June 28 - 2:30 amThis car is exciting on so many different levels. There is nothing like it on the road even though Audi and Cadillac try very hard. Theres still nothing that feels, smells, or drives like a Benz. Faster than some Ferraris and Porsches but practical enough to strap my daughter into her car seat and go go go!

Nice Car - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By conroebird - June 17 - 8:31 pmHave had two Lexus ES350 and one RX350. All were nice, but the RX wasnt the good quality as expected, and was boring. My wife loved the RX, so it took some prodding to change. So far we have 900 mi on the MB E350 and it is much more fun to drive with good quality. Will likely miss the Lexus free maintenance, but this car seems worth it. Very quiet, great music system, nav, etc. The panorama sunroof sold my wife, but it uses a screen to keep out sunlight instead of a solid cover. So in Texas the screen allows some heat through. Keep that in mind. A/C is extremely cold though, so no worries. The Command interface works well for me. Transmission lever is cool but different.

Complete Package - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Ram 63 - June 15 - 10:00 amI Drive 130 to 150 miles per day for work. My car is my Office. In past 4 years I have owned the following BMW M3,528 sport, Mercedes E430(2002), Lexus GS300 and GS430, Audi A4 3.0. In that order. All had there plus side, but obviously I was not completely satisfied until now. I have had the radio issues but that is fixable. This car is a keeper.

Never again! - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By schumacr - June 14 - 12:10 pmI love the drive of the car but the problems we have had have been way too much. Just had one of the catalytic converters break just 1.5 weeks after the other broke. Mercedes wont fix it due to an 8yr/80K warranty (weve had the car 5 years and it just went over 80K miles). A mere $1600 just for the part! This is the straw that broke the camels back. Too many other quality issues to mention. For 60K, youd think youd get WAY more quality. My 97 BMW has had far fewer problems. Lexus or BMW - you get my money next time. Mercedes? Never again!

Better than expected! - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By richord - June 14 - 8:53 amWe owned a 1999 E320 4matic which served us well but I swore I would never buy another Merc after all their quality problems. Ours was spared the problems. But I read the reviews about the E350 and test drove one. I bought the E350 4matic with the P2 option and sports package. I drove it 1000 miles over the holidays, through rain and snow and it was great! the steering is responsive and even in snow with the low profile all season tires I felt like I was always in control. Feedback was great. This is one of the greatest handling and comfortable cars Ive owned including Porsches! we also like the styling on the car with the sports package it looks hot.

Its a great car when it starts - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Gael - June 9 - 2:00 amWe purchased this car used with 59000 miles on it. After 6 days, the right rear window motor went out - ch-ching! And then, about a month later, we noticed the A/C wasnt working very well - ch-ching! And now the stupid car takes 2 or 3 hits to start - and I know this will be the MacDaddy ch- ching - I dread it. Am currently searching for a trade deal so I can unload this POS on some other sucker. If you are thinking about buying Mercedes, think it over carefully and then shoot yourself in the foot if you decide to go through with it. Get it over with.

Bad transmission for 2006 4matic - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By eastsidejl - June 9 - 1:12 amMy 06 is currently under MB Manufactures warrantee and I have been fighting with MB to replace my faulty transmission. At 28 mph, it skips. MB tells me there is nothing wrong and this is normal performance!!!! I am filing complaints with every agency. I paid an extra $2k for my extended warrantee when I bought my certified used MB and MB will not fix this!!!! I would NEVER buy this car!!!!!

38MPG highway - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Carl B. - June 8 - 9:53 pmIve owned some very nice vehicles (Porsche, BMW, etc) but this is without a doubt the finest sedan I have ever owned or even ridden in. Smooth, quiet, comfortable with excellent handling and almost shocking acceleration. Unlike most cars (especially hybrids), the EPA rating is accurate. Took it on a long trip recently and got 38MPG with the cruise set at 75. I see no reason at all to even consider an E350. Ultra low sulphur diesel is still a bit hard to find but getting better every week. Whats in the tanks at most gas stations is usually ULSD but most stations havent been certified yet. Luckily, I only have to look for fuel about once or twice a month.

WOW...I love this car - 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By buttermilk - June 2 - 2:00 amThis car now has 51,000 and it is hard to understand how it stays so solid. This convertible has virtually no flex in the body. It has adequate power to do some "enjoyment" driving. It is refined, even by todays standards. I can put the kids in the back and cruise for hours.
