Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

315K and Going Strong - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Mercman - August 12 - 4:43 amI bought mine new in 99 and now has 315,000 miles and going strong. Replaced engine mounts about a year ago and shocks and struts a few years ago -- not that they absolutely had to be replaced, but it was a bit of an improvement. Body is close to perfect, as is the interior. Still has the original 16-year old battery, and last winter we had 10 consecutive days of below zero temps, and it started up every time without a hitch! This car was overbuilt (before Mercedes went to Chrysler and back). Basically, all that Ive done is change the synthetic oil every 10K miles and, of course, periodic tire and brake changes. If you can pick one up which has been well maintained, you will NOT be disappointed. Very smooth and powerful ride, and still getting 25 mph on the highway (and best cruise control of any car I ever owned).

Best choice! - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By benz - August 11 - 2:53 amI am so glad that I had chosen this over Lexus. Sure Lexus is reliable, but very boring and unoriginal. Also, absolutely no problems ever! Not one! Only time I went to the dealership was to buy the car, and have it washed! I love the interior design and soft leather and seats!

Sore elbow - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By gtr - August 4 - 5:10 pmOrdered in June after driving 2005 demo. 2006 arrived with no arm rest; roll top desk top instead. After 5 weeks, driven it only about 100 miles. When I go to use it I think "sore elbow," and use a different car. I have a C240 wagon and until recently a CL600. Both had a plastic runner at the bottom of the door opening. This one has fabric - great for attracting stains. Mercedes appears to consider its customers incompetent when it comes to lowering the back seats. An interlock moves the passenger seat forward, after which it might just accommodate a five- year-old. All kinds of hassle to overide this interlock so as to be able to use the seat. Wonderful vehicle spoiled by dumb design.

Great Car - 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By JJP - August 3 - 10:00 amThis is my first Mercedes. I am not disappointed! The car looks great, drives great and is built great. I test drove them all, the 5-series, GS300, A6 and Infiniti, and the Mercedes-Benz had by far the smoothest of rides for my taste. Highly recommended if your looking for style, ride comfort and dependability.

Elegant traveling for the family - 2002 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By MBZfan - July 26 - 10:06 pmIve been looking at some of the new 08 E350 wagons offered from Mercedes and although theyre beautiful, my 02 E320 wagon still looks nearly as sleek and stylish, so I may hang on to it for a little longer. the car has almost 100k miles on it and it still runs like it did brand new! (always used synthetic motor oil and premium gasoline) I just put new Continetal tires on it along w/ a wheel alignment and the car doesnt vibrate at all even when cruising in excess of 80 mph. This car still gets 24.5 mpg on the highway! It has plenty of cargo room and AWD for the snow making it perfect for ski trips up to the mountains. while its not sexy, you gotta admit its stylish for a family car.

E550A Cabriolet - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By MIKEMNH - July 25 - 10:00 amTraded 2009 Porsche 911 Cab PDK on this. 911 great but rough ride and hard egress/exit. Mercedes is a great all around car. If you really arent ever going on a track, this is the perfect car. Very torquey V8, brisk in normal or sport mode. Tip-in and shifting very aggressive in sport mode. A quality car with great electronics. I have 1400 songs on 1 8.5 Gig DVD, Player will take 5 more!! Transmission is not as good as Porsche PDK, but way more than you need for aggressive road driving. Exhaust note is a pleasure. I think Mercedes gets it, and Im glad I got it!

Mercedes E55 AMG the BEAST - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Richard Weavil - July 21 - 2:00 amThis is without a doubt the fastest sedan in the world.I have driven them all. This is as fast as a 12cyl Ferrari 575M and you can take 4 friends and their lugage with you in a luxurious cabin. Im sorry but the E55 leaves an M5 in the dust. Oh by the way it only has 469HP.

Best Car Ever - 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By RJD1212 - July 21 - 2:00 amBest car I have ever owned and I now wonder why I did not consider MB before now. The c class is affordable and something I could have managed financially before the e class model. Overall MB is superior in many ways. I drove researched every sedan and SUV between $30K and $60k and think the E320 is perfect with regard to size, price, performance and options. I highly recommend the phenomenal voice- activated phone package with includes CD and radio. It makes it as safe or safer than listening to the radio while driving.

My first E class - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Rocco FC - July 21 - 2:00 amOne of the most comfortable Mercedes I have owned. As a shorter person in the past my SLK and CLK did not provide seating as comfortable as I would have liked. Some how the E class seating is very good for someone just over 5 feet tall. The engine is smooth and quiet and adequately powered. An interesting blend of conservative yet exciting styling.
