Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

Overall, a Great Car to Drive - 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By jonro - November 12 - 12:19 amDue to the vagaries of car leases, I had a 2012 Audi A7 and a 2014 MB E350 Sedan before purchasing this 2016 E400 Coupe. The coupe is more my style and I rarely need to put people in the rear seat. While its smaller than the E Sedan, its still a midsize car. The differences between the 2014 and 2016 model years are mostly subtle, except for the engine, but significant. First, the E400s bi-turbo V6 is excellent with no acceleration lag and excellent torque at any speed. One of my biggest dislikes about the E350 was the low end accelerator lag. That is gone and acceleration is strong from the start with no hesitation. This engine sounds great, too. Gas mileage is very good for this type of car. I took a cross-country trip and got 29 mpg on the mostly highway drive. The car feels more solid and quieter than the 2014, but thats hard to quantify. The seats feel more comfortable, and they are great for a multi-hour drive. M-B made some changes to the buttons and controls on the console that made good sense. The entertainment system/navigation system is a little quicker to control than before. The quality of the directions is just okay. It sometimes wants me to route me in stupid ways that would add time to my trip. Driving through Phoenix, it wanted me to get on and off on every exit. But, usually it gets me where I want to go. The interior is very attractive. I was disappointed that the coupe loses the door lighting found in the sedan. It makes the cockpit a friendlier place at night. My interior, red Napa in a black cockpit with a black headliner is stunning. Ive heard it said that the cockpit is a little old school in looks. Maybe so, but it still looks great. Very good materials and the placement of buttons and other controls is very good. The exterior looks excellent. I personally feel it is a great-looking car and I have no complaints in that department. For 2016, M-B added rotating headlights and retracting mirrors, both very good features. I like the safety features, too. The side view alert works well, as does the backup camera. The Nav display, by the way, is high def compared to the display in the 2014. The only feature I dont like is the way the panoramic roof was implemented. The glass may absorb UV and block heat, but the retractable net is not sufficiently opaque. Its the same netting material M-B uses for the rear sunshade. Its okay for that application, but overhead, it allows in too much sun. Ive resorted to wearing a baseball cap in the car once or twice when it bothered me. I would rather that M-B included the 360 degree camera (in the Premium 3) package instead of the panoramic roof. They say the rear seat passengers enjoy it, but when you buy a coupe, you dont expect a lot of people sitting in the rear seat. If you did, you would buy a sedan. Its a fun car to drive. While not a sports car, the handling and the car are both solid and sitting in that cockpit is a fun place to be.

Fast, fun and furious E555 AMG - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By David Wishnew - November 10 - 10:00 amBlazingly fast, extremely comfortable and totally unflappable. Cruises easily at 40, 80 or 120 mph. Easier to drive at triple digit speed than my old Grand Sport Corvette. Seats very comfortable and infinitely adjustable. Sound system can use more wattage for high speed cruising with open sunroof. Outrageous cost for installed telephone. Transmission sometimes lurches a bit, but slapstick is easy to use and dropping two gears quickly is easier than with manual transmission. Surprisingly good gas mileage on highway driving, although difficult to keep to speed limit. I would definitely buy another

Exellent bang for the buck - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By true driver - November 7 - 12:43 amWhen comparing the E550 against the S class, cadillac CTV, the BMW 5 and Lexus 460 this model by far is the best of the bunch. The interior alone beats all. The premium II package is a must. The ride is excellent and the interior noise is very very low. It handles extremely well for a sedan and braking has very little fade. Exterior styling is elegant and the Sedan model with the hood ornament steels the show. Quality is fantastic. The engine/horsepower/torque and 7 speed transmission is phenomenal. Disengage the traction control and take off when the light changes...yeah, its that fast!

Great Car! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By JJG - November 1 - 6:13 pmI purchased this car with less than 13,000 miles (certified). Decided to add the extended warranty which extends coverage to 100k. Because of the lack luster economy I realized significant costs saving when I purchased this vehicle. This is a great Automobile! The ride is absolutely first rate and the safety features are without peer! My wife has a Lexus and there is a significant difference in handling and ride quality. Im continuously complimented on the vehicle. This is my first MB! Definitely will not be my last. Simply put, this is the best automobile that Ive ever owned!

My New Bluetec - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Alan - November 1 - 2:33 pmThis is an excellent all round vehicle. I opted to upgrade the wheel package to 10 twin spoke alloys - why these are not offered as standard as they are on the E350 surprises me

E350 is beyond comparison! - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Mark B. - October 30 - 10:33 pmIt may sound cliche (and downright corney) but the new Mercedes E350 *IS* the most comfortable, well-built and safety minded car in its class. I have owned a BMW 325 and an Infinity I-class and this vehicle blows away the competition. The ride cannot be described. Quiet, fast when required and a feeling of complete safety. The vehicle is very responsive without feeling mushy like many of the Japanese competitors. Try one!

Worth the wait - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By IN2DWWW - October 29 - 7:13 pmThere is an obvious increase in power. The seven- speed transmission is silky smooth. The engine/ transmission can amazingly propel the car from a standstill in jet-like fasion. When accellerating, the car keeps moving forward without any hint of giving up, similar to taking off in a DC-10 or 727, the car shifts to where it never lets go of the forward momentum. Sometimes I could swear that the E350 is a V8, but when I seldom go to the gas station, Im glad its a V6. Theres nothing extra special on the car that the E320 didnt have, beyond the addition of dynamic seats to the premium package. After looking at the Lexus GS, Jag S-type, & Audi A6, I have 0 second thoughts.

Best Luxury Sedan You Can Buy - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Katy Korsay - October 23 - 9:24 pmThis Mercedes is still perfect, like me! After owning this new E Class, I now understand why U.S. News and World Report ranks it as the #1 luxury car on the market. This is a "Baby S Class" but with more technology. Any complaints you read with these reviews about the small engine size came from men with small engines of their own, and need a larger car engine to make them feel better. This engine is quick, fast, quiet, and gets great gas mileage. The interior of this Mercedes E Class is what really sets it apart from a BMW 5 Series, Lexus, and Audi. There is no comparison, as the class and "wow factor" that this car exudes will make BMW 5 Series owners cringe even more with their Mercedes Benz jealousy than they normally do. The over 12 inch navigation screen and 64 color ambient lighting that run throughout the front and back of the car are simply stunning. If you are looking to drive the best of the best, and like to watch your neighbors drop their jaw when you pull in your driveway, purchase an E Class and set yourself apart from the rest of the pack.
