Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

We are delighted with our purchase. Picked up in a snow storm; drove for 5 hours in less than pleasant conditions; unually comfortable and very stable in difficult conditions. Quality of workmanship superb.

I am a Mercedes enthusiast that has owned models ranging from SL, S and E classes since 1977. I have owned 4 diesels and 8 gas mosels. This is without a doubt, the finest car yet. The speed and torgue is fantastic, actually faster than the E320 gas model. Combine this with fantastic mileage (37 MPG hwy) great handling, impressive interior and exterior design, roomy interior, large trunk and lots of neat features and creature comforts and you have a 10.

  • No thanks - 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Not impressed with this Mercedes. The brakes sqweel when coming to a stop. No cup holders, glove box, or storage. At around 60K the fuel pump, steering pump, headlight switch, sun roof switch, mirror switch, and exhoust pipe failed. Constently replacing the tailight bulbs. The stereo sucks, the seats are too hard, the accelerator is too stiff, and I had to stuff foam everywhere in the back panels to cut down on the road noise! The car does drive nice however...

  • CPO E350 4Matic - 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Bought this car CPO with 2 years and 20k left on the original factory warranty, and 1 year unlimited mileage after thats done. Paid less than 31k for a 65k car that is less than 3 years old. Having been driving it for a month with no issues. Great car and great value for the luxury youre getting. Ill never buy a Merc new, Ill stick to the CPO route due to the ridiculous depreciation. The best cars though!

  • Forget the 5 series! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This is the best e-class ever! I have been a BMW fanatic for the past 20 years but I just converted! This is a STAR from Stuttgart. Quality, design, comfort, driving dynamics better than the current 530i (that says a lot to people who know about beamers!), low road and tire noise & torgue.

  • Definitely nice! - 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

While my ML320 was in for scheduled maintenance, I received the E320 as a "loaner". I was skeptical since a significant snow storm was predicted. But it turned out I had nothing to worry about. The traction control was outstanding, and the antilock did its job. The car felt confident and performed extremely well. Ride quality excellent, and the car just feels SOLID. The engine is spirited (thats a V6 underhood?), quiet, and refined. I found it kind of odd that the car had a motorized headrest, but a "push open" fuel door. Huh?

Since the new CDI arrived, I had been wanting to buy one. I have been happy ever since I bought this car. It is fun to drive, and gets more than excellent gas mileage. I average 650 miles between fill-ups. Then interior is comfortable and well designed. Sound system is great also.

  • Beware of the E Class Defroster - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

The E Class defroster has no adjustment. Full temperature only on the windshield and interior of car. Makes for an oven when on. Doesnt cut off automatically. Had I known this, I would not have bought a $55K Mercedes.

Fantastic mileage,...drove 920 miles to Florida on less than two tanks of fuel!!! Great road car for comfort, speed & handling. Purchased car, used, 3 yrs old with less than 10K. Even performed well this past winter in driving for its weight,....truly is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned. This is my 4th Mercedes. Hope to drive it for a long time. Service is 2nd to none at my selling dealer.

  • Best Merc <$60K - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The car is FAST. But its also solid and stately as well. I really like how it handles and although the ergonomics took some time to get used to I am very happy with the layout of the interior. The seats are quite comfortable with the bolsters (comes with the appearance package) and the integration of the phone/ipod etc is quick and easy. The cupholders are perfect. The back seat has enough room for a short trip for people over 58" and a long trip for people under 58". I would say 60" is the limit in the back seat. The trunk is roomy for a coupe! The car looks really good in person (better than the pictures). Prepare to spend a lot for gas though, I am avg 15.9 MPG.
