Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

5 Star E320 - 2001 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By DCMan - February 13 - 10:00 amThis car just keeps constantly amazing me. It does everything so well. I was a little skeptical about the V6....wondering if it would have enough power for me.....but it brings a childish grin to my face whenever I punch her.....on a recent cross state jaunt.....she averaged 25 mpg while cruising between 85-90 mph.......amazing.....

Never again - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Maria Peralta - February 8 - 10:00 amI have had trouble with my E430 since day one. The passenger power window jammed at the down postion. At 20k miles the radio went dead. Dealer repaired it and it went dead once more at 21k miles. At 30k miles the power locks always lock back when opened. Nothin else went wrong untill 39k miles when the car didnt recognize none of my keys. I gave up due to the fact that the warranty was about to end and I went and bought an Jaguar S-type which is a wonderful car that gives me no problems unlike MBs E430.

Take this car and... - 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Kflana - February 2 - 9:43 amAfter 15 months of driving this car, and at least 10 trips to the dealer for repairs for electrical, leaks etc. in the last 10 months I am going to sell it and get another Lexus. The electrics are horrible, and it takes 2 weeks to get the gaskets from Germany for the oil leaks. Buyer beware

Nice - Really Nice - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By jw - January 31 - 6:53 amI owned a couple of MBs back in the 80s and while they were reliable (boringly so), they were just not fun to drive. I recently purchased a 1999 E430 just because it looked good on the lot and had only 30000 miles on it (in June of 2007!). I must say these cars have come a long, long, way. This thing is powerful, smooth, and handles like its on rails. It gets 31 mpg on the Interstate (in cruise control)and averages 25. If you need a great used car for a real bargain price, look at one of these wonderful machines.

Sweet CDI - 2005 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By granite - January 30 - 9:40 pmThis is the vehicle that blows away all the old dirty diesel tales. Its quiet, burns clean and with all the torque available, absolutely hauls the mail. Add to those qualities the fact that I get almost 38 mpg on the highway (Reno to Phoenix on one tank)...the fuel efficiency increases with high average speeds (75-85)...and about 30 mpg in town. If youre on the highway a lot...you gotta go for the 6CD changer and Sirius system (whens the IPOD dock coming?!)...COMAND is cool. Im never leaving this car.

Luxury abound but underpowered - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Aceofspade - January 28 - 12:19 pmFull of luxury options but should have had a bigger engine option for the real drivers.

Coupe de Grace - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By suds - January 26 - 8:26 pmAn outstanding looking car thats solid, sporty and fun to drive on the open road. The 350 v-6 is a little underpowered when accelerating, especially compared to my previous ride.....a BMW 335i ( 300hp, twin turbo) This car feels larger and more solid, and safer than the bimmer though, and its exterior design is sleeker and more attractive to my taste. Give Mercedes a lot of credit for upgrading its design and updating the technology in the E-class while reducing the MSRP by $5,000. This is an extremely good value in its class. My odometer just turned 1,000 miles and Ive averaged 22.4 mpg overall.
