Model Overview:

A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.

Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

  • Not the same MB of old - 2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

Purchased 2000 E320 to replace 1991 E class. Initially the car was fine, but soon to discover poor paint, easily chipped with instant rust and elect problems. Changed more bulbs in this cars than my past 4 cars in total. Never rust on 2 prior MBs, every chip, no matter how small rusts. Spent over 2K to date on repairs. Found out later, car had been damaged and part repainted before sold. Internet is full of paint complaints on this series. Only 56k to date, cant affort to get rid of it. Worth only half what I got for my 91 at 9 yrs. old. Cant even contact zone svc mgr. MBUSA says the dealer is my only contact. MB=junk

This is my sixth Benz. All the rest where ok as far as dependability. This 2006 E350 4 matic has been nothing but trouble.I bought it 24 month and it has been in for service 16 times. 5 times for trany problems(leaks, shifting trouble, transfer case problems) 5 times for electrical troubles.(battery kept draining still cant find the problem three new batteries so far) Air bag trouble(2x) , steering rack leaks(2x) and the seat back panels had to be changer (they came loose) and the front power seats jammed 2X .MB is in the process of replacing the car (I am only paying for mileage used) They treat good customers well. First time buyer would have a problem (Lawyer Time )

  • A Really Sleek Touring Coupe - 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

This is my first Mercedes and overall, I am extremely pleased. I have owned 6 BMWs and most recently, an Infiniti G37 Coupe, all with manual transmissions, so this car with auto/paddle shifters was a leap. Before buying I looked at a BMW335 Coupe, another G37 Coupe and an Audi A5 Coupe. While the A5 design is great, it felt a little cramped inside especially since the sunroof doesnt slide open - weird. The E350 looks great, inside and out. Interior is spacious and the panoramic sunroof adds to that. Road and highway handling are excellent, but it could use a bit more power and some muffler resonance. Overall, its a Grand Touring Coupe that I am truly happy to drive.

  • So Much More Than a Luxury Wagon - 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This really is a fantastic car. The cargo hold is massive for a mid-size vehicle and interior passenger space is impressive plus it is really quite easy to get a child seat attached in the rear seat with little issue and it fits very firmly. The car is a blast to drive when you push it (no wagon should be this fast or corner this well). The build quality is also fantastic with super-soft leather and fantastic fit and finish. Gas mileage is also remarkably decent for a 507-hp V8.

  • I will buy another - 1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

This is still perhaps the most eyecatching Mercedes model, along with the new SL. This car is smooth, quiet, reliable, and a real blast to drive on a long curvy country road. When the time comes, I will probably look to replace this car with a 2001 or 2002. The V-8 is definately the way to go.

  • Been Fun - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class

The car only had one major mechanical failure which was under warranty. With the addition of a custom Remus exhaust system, it has been a lot of fun to own and drive.

  • Buying off lease! - 1999 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
    By -

This car is great. 80,000 miles and still as smooth as ever. Most expensive MB Extended Factory warranty is a must though. Had several back window motors break. Other things from time to time. They came to ME within an hour and fixed it no cost each time. I drive it hard. Turbo really kicks it up a notch. Drove 4 maximas prior to getting the TD. Each one felt like it was falling apart at 35k miles. This car at 80K is just getting broken in.
