Overview & Reviews
A favorite in the midsize luxury car class, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class has provided an appealing mix of comfort, performance and safety for decades. The trademark qualities of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, such as vaultlike solidity and cutting-edge technology, have also contributed to the E-Class' great popularity among luxury buyers.
Over the years, the E-Class has been offered as a sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible. Contemporary E-Class models come loaded with luxury features and offer stunning acceleration in higher trim levels, with diesel power available if you want to maximize your fuel economy. The E-Class has never been the sportiest car in its segment, but its handling has improved significantly in recent years. Rivals are better in certain respects, but if you're looking for the complete package in a medium-size luxury car, an E-Class will be hard to beat.

BENZIE 210 - 1996 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By dalworth55cars - June 1 - 11:33 pmI really enjoy this superb and silky smooth car. All aspects of the car has been positive. The car handles nicely and feels quite substancial. My only complaints are typical to many other Benzs of similar years both earlier and later. This car turns heads and is deserving of all the attention that it recieves. Mercedes really stepped up the look on the car. To date this is the best looking E-Class. The 2003 chassis doesnt look as beefy, beefy looks good for a mans car. The 1996 is a heavy and stiff car. This tank is built for the road and it superbly holds the road in all weather conditions. This is close to car heaven. That is so far.

Mercedes E-350 2008 Accident - 2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By forego - May 30 - 3:51 pmBest Safe Highway Car I ever owned. Recently in terrible accident with semi truck on I-10 just outside of Phoenix, I believe the E-350 2008 not only save our lives but we all walked away without series injury. Looking to buy same model and year again. Great highway gas mileage with power.

Fantastic Diesel - 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By FallsWine - May 26 - 10:00 amThis vehicle replaces our 2008 E320 Blue-Tec and what an improvement. Mercedes has made great improvements in cabin design and layout, improved the voice command control and greatly improved the navigation and radio manual controls. To top it off were getting 38 to 40 mpg for combined city/highway driving (much better than EPA estimates and better than our 2008) and theres more than enough power to pass anything on the highway. This is a really great vehicle.

Dont buy one - 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Jfa - May 22 - 2:00 amBought car with 10,000 miles onm it and it has been the worse car I have ever owned- will never buy another one. Now have 102,000 miles on it and have replaced fuel and water pumps and had numerous minor problems. Just found out i have a major electrical problem which will cost over $1000.00 to fix. Considering what I paid for the car, it has been a disaster. Am going to trade it in on an Acura.

2009 E350 RWD Review - 2009 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By ppnff - May 16 - 4:03 amI bought a new 2009 E350 due to the massive incentives, both dealer and financing subsidies in July 2009. If the subsidies did not decrease the price by over 33%, I would not have bought the vehicle. Also, the 2009 fixed a lot of the prior model year issues (e.g., COMMAND problems), and a lot of options (iPod, bluetooth, DVD) were now free. At this price point, the deal was a steal. Coming from an Infiniti G (more hp and faster), I like my change.

Mercedes-Poor engineering & quality - 1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By douglas wilson - May 14 - 10:00 amI have owned Mercedes for 25 years. This car is junk. One problem after another. Very poorly designed and manufactured. Rear and Trans died before 60,000; computer died at 55,000; wiring harness is biodegradable- replaced at 75,000.

Update on Mecedes E-320 BLUETECH - 2007 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Henry - May 13 - 11:30 pmI recently submitted a review of my new 2007 Bluetech. In this review I stated the problems I was having with the 7 speed transmission. I am happy to tell you that Mercedes has installed new software to eliminate this jerky shifting problem. My local dealer and Mercedes in Germany was involved in this process. It has been a week now since the update and the transmission is now shifting as smooth as silk. In fact, the transmission is shifting much more positive throughout the entire speed range. I think Mecedes and my dealer has done a great job solving this shifting problem and eliminating it. The entire process took about one hour. I thought you like to hear the good news.

Traded in a 2014 E350 and its an upgrade. - 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class
By Dave - May 9 - 11:21 amOur lease was up on our 2014 E350, which we loved. We werent even thinking about the new E300 because of the change from the 302 hp V6 to the 241hp turbo 4. I did have the opportunity to experience how smooth an powerful the new generation of twin turbo 4s can be as I recently also bought a BMW 328i. Two days after picking up the E300 I took it on a 500 mile trip that I did often in the 2014. There is really no discernible difference in performance between the two engines in speeds up to 90 mph. The 4 with the 9 speed transmission is incredibly smooth. The full torque is available at very low rpm so the car felt just as powerful, fast and quick as the V6. Both cars have a similar smooth ride with the new car having a little better driving dynamics. The beautiful exterior and interior styling, amazing seats with power thigh bolsters, and cutting edge safety and entertainment tech makes the new car superior to the 2014. Our new car stickered about $4k less than the 2014, but overall was better equipped. Although I dont have adaptive headlights or pano sunroof this time, having lane departure, self parking, autonomous braking, Appleplay, etc makes up for it. Dont hesitate being concerned about the shift from the 6 to the turbo 4. It makes no difference in real world driving. Compared to the BMW turbo 4, the Benz is smoother and quieter, the BMW is quicker and more athletic. The E350 was the best sedan I ever owned and the new E300 is clearly better. Surprisingly though the gas mileage is not that much better: 2 mpg on the highway - 29 for the 2014 and 31 for the new one, both 4matic. This was at average speeds of 75-80. UPDATE at 1 year. I will not be getting another Mercedes when this lease is up. Car performs well, but the technology does not work as advertised. Appleplay conks out, the screen goes blank, nav is very awkward to use, voice recognition is not very good, self Park is useless, Mercedes app doesn’t work right. Mercedes service doesn’t have answers. Beautiful car, nice highway ride, but not really an upgrade on the old E350. Next time I’ll be looking at Audi or BMW.
